Dont know why there is so much commotion about "Oh hes dead now he cant tell us what happened"

...Did you really expect him to answer any questions anyway you fools?

Killed in crossfire?
It has to be told that way to allow the continuing unwholesome celebration of a man's horrific undignified death.

Sums up the reporting of the Libyan conflict. Never has the use of propaganda been so prevalent in British news coverage of a foreign conflict in my memory.

Most nights we cringed at the news, sometimes switching over to another channel.

and then we have people like you who dimiss anything the bbc or sky dont tell us , because they would never lie would they......

maybe use your own mind once in a while and look at the facts

That is quite evidently your problem though Arknor; you don't have half the facts, not even 10%. What you actually have is a slant, or a gist, that is skewed by your own perception, then you project that perception as if it is founded on full true fact.

The moral high ground crew can whine all they like. There are people who have suffered under the rule of a cruel dictator and if they want to celebrate his death then so be it. Who are you to judge really?

There's an irony in your statement which you may or may not recognise.

The same that did when the Americans ripped down the statue of Saddam then insurgents started a bloody campaign to gain control of power.

1000s of young men now have weapons and the hunger for power.

Enjoy your armchair
Always the last resort. Post an opinion which doesn't flow with the herd and you're an armchair warrior. It's a pitiful response really.

Some of us hold opinions different to yours. I am not in a position of power and consequently unable to make much of a difference to what is or has happened - or indeed will happen, nor thankfully am I a victim of Gaddafi's regime.

I simply find it hard to comprehend the hipocrisy and blood thirst. Do as the great west does, find democracy and use it! Find freedom and re-instate civil liberties. All of this I am for. But in this case, like so many, the motive smacks of undertone.

And the reporting? Lets not go there again.

Do you think its a coincidence that all of a sudden in 2011 that uprisings happened around the Arab world resulting in the toppling of dictators throughout the region?

By all accounts he was a dictator and a badman but that does mean we had any right to interfere in a sovereign nations affair? Please dont wheel out that line about doing it for the people we never have and never will waste our money and time for that.

This is all part of a larger initiative to install western friendly regimes in the middle east.

We can judge all we want, it's part of our nature you've judged your way so others will judge there own way. Especially seeing as how we've spent large amounts of money and resources, risking soldiers lives.

There's a saying "wish for others what you wish for yourselves", if we don't stick to values then we become the bad men that we supposedly fight against and so far it looks like thats coming through.

Watch these new muppets the NTC, they'll be just as bad if not worser then Gaddafi, they executed him in cold blood and paraded him through the street like a bunch of savages.

This is what our taxpayers money goes toward helping ****heads like them, makes me sick.

Now that Gadaffi is dead, the NTC will undoubtedly lose their 'unity' which was secured by chasing Gadaffi and his supporters. It'll be interesting to see what happens now, particularly as there is essentially a power vacuum.

Having the bloodied corpse of Gadaffi hauled through the streets, in my opinion, isn't exactly the best of starts. Time will tell.

No money for UK problems. Plenty for cruise missiles, mavericks and paveways it seems.

It is nauseating at times.

Im sure the tax form the money BP make from their Libya contracts will make up for that. If we hadn't supported them and the USA had then Gadaffi would still be dead only the NTC would be cancelling BP's contracts and giving them to the countries that helped.

So.....that humanitarian mission.......
Of all the humanitarian issues ongoing in the world. Must have been names in a hat.
Last night on QT, tory representative Jacob Rees-Mogg made it quite clear we are not going to police the world as a consequence of this victory - potentially stating any other humanitarian crisis can continue without British intervention (the context was Syria and Iran).

I cannot believe people are falling for the humanitarian spin on this.

I'm sure thousands of dead innocents isn't a consideration when it comes to oil contracts.

As I said, nauseating.

+1
No need to type anything because it's typed above

All I can see are simplistic view points lending to a utopia like view of a world that doesn't exist and a mechanism that isn't feasible. The point about the west installing friendly puppet govts is obvious, and what of it? I don't have a problem with that. What,do you think that somehow because humans have advanced intellectually and socially that it doesn't all boil down to the fact that we're still just restricted by the harsh conditions and limited resources the earth provides for us? When you strip it all back you're still left with a race of barbarians. If we have to do what we do to maintain our superior stance in the world then so be it. I'm not going to be upset by the execution of one man. I simply don't care enough.

A pretty short sighted comment.

Quite. Rather like the irony remark you made. I'll construct some more lengthy responses just for you to validate if you wish?
