Skyrim Pricing

Most of these game retailers order thousands of copies of games, so they can afford to sell them on cheap. I highly doubt ocuk does this, and this is why they can't afford to cut the price as much.

Either way at this price no one in their right mind would buy it at this price. If I had a say in it I would either stop selling games or really invest a lot in the games market and buy in bulk and sell at a competitive price.

I'd be willing to pay a little bit more provided that the key is sent along for activation on Steam with the box sent via snail mail, but not that much more. Maybe about the £30 mark.

Around here ordering it online means waiting for a couple of days for the game to arrive or paying a massive premium locally or on steam to play on release.

I don't see why companies don't post steamworks games early anyway, it's not as if we can play them until release no matter how soon we get the disk.

I bought skyrim for £24.99p including p+p, this is another prime example of ocuk being greedy.

Or maybe OCUK not getting a good deal from the suppliers because they are not one of the usual places to buy games and have no weight in that area.

How does that matter if even we could get better pricing on this game if we bought in large numbers (say 100+)?

You could pre-order this game for half the price.

And don't mention free delivery since:

a) it's been available on all items, no matter how cheap, for ages now
b) most games fit in a large bubble wrapped envelope and could be send by RM if necessary
c) we are less than 10%

My point is the price is high and OCUK is aware of better deals pretty much everywhere else so it must be down to more than just being greedy for such a price.

A B C has nothng todo with my comment as im not trying to even say that there is value somewhere in buying from OCUK

Does anyone think the price of Skyrim will go down closer to Christmas? Some Steam deals or something?
