Do you turn your PC off?

I got it set to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity, so usually when I sleep I put on iPlayer and fall asleep and it sleeps right after the video finishes playing.

However I save any important work before allowing it to sleep as there have been times when the power has gone off.

I normally put my PC into sleep overnight, I would hibernate it but it randomly switches back on during the night and my room is usually about 28C when I wake up sweating like a pig :D

My HTPC automatically comes in and out of sleep when it needs to.

Mine is off at night as I don't use it till I get home from uni. If I'm working on something and want to leave for the next day then it goes to sleep. it's usually on or sleeping when I'm at home or just going out for a bit.

My laptop goes on hibernate every night as the screen doesn't turn on after a shut down. I have to connect it to the TV and click detect display.

usualy goess off at night unless im downloading, dont see the point in leaving it on for it to annoy me with the fans and LED's.

Off or to sleep at night. Sleep when I'm going out and remember to put it to sleep. Massive savings on electricity by shutting down or putting to sleep.

Whoever says that it costs more to power down and then start up all the time couldn't be more wrong. A booting system doesn't draw a massive amount of power over idle draw and besides it only lasts for a minute or so.

Hasn't been off in over a year, restarts yes. Never been to sleep, constantly on. Since ive started crunching, its been constantly on and 100% load most of the time, too.

On all the time, when im not using it i leave it rendering or converting or just running prime :) I dont pay for electricity so :D

s3 sleep which is more or less off just starts up faster is all but in general yea shutdown as why wear it out or waste electricity ? I'd wager a large proportion of the people that leave it on don't pay the leccy bill and should have more respect for their parents.

depends which pc :P older ones have standby instead of sleep which means all the fans stay running, I shut these down instead. Sleep on newer one, means I can leave all my work open.

These people who turn the PC off at the plug, don't they end up running the bios battery out much faster? They only keep their time/bios settings for a year or so if they have no power at all most the time.

Usually shut the desktop down at night before bed, otherwise the blue flashing light on the front becomes annoying when it's dark. Never goes off at the wall though

on morning and when i come home from work, when i sleep i turn it off unless i have a good enough reason to keep it on over-night has to be a good one (although) 'did i get it right the second time?' as the silence gets broken by fans :)

Nah not really. A CMOS battery should last a few years so not a big problem.
