I'm happy with my PC but boredom is creeping in. Please convince me to hold out until Ivybridge :p

Running a 920@ 4ghz

Is there any real reason to upgrade to SB now or shall I just wait as I have waited long enough already?

I have ditched all my mechanical hardrives just got another SSD for Steam.

I should be set until Ivy comes knocking?

Thoughts

Just wait man, unless you are super rich. In that case get sandybridge...

...and buy me one too.:D

Me and I have no reason to upgrade. Still holds well because it isn't new tech anymore doesn't mean its crap and you have to upgrade to the newest generation of CPU's.

Since you mention Steam I'm going to assume you mostly game, if not only game. Therefore..you wouldn't notice any improvement going to SB from a 4GHz 920.

I'm in the same position, itching for an upgrade - but it's just not worth it at the moment

Hi

Im on 1366 specs in sig and still find it to be more than enough for what I need. Will be looking at 2011 when it comes out but till then im in no rush to upgrade.

Regards,

Chris

To be honest, I'm actually tempted to purchase one. They're so damn cheap to pick up now and considering the marginal performance boost in games 2500k/2600k has over them. They seem a good buy right now

Had mine 2 years now and its still not really being stressed at all with my gaming at 1080p. I imagine I will last another 2 years before upgrading.

Yeah I guess its just a socket

1366 is still top end what with X58 and triple channel ram and 4 core with another 4 virtual cores I'm worried for no reason,

I'll upgrade in April when the mobo's have matured, dropped in priced and PCI-e 3.0 cards actually exist
