Correct, although it seems that even on the Garmin forums, all posters are reporting lock ups after around 15-30km :/

I haven't had any difficulty with locking, but it is slow to refresh sometimes. The other problem is that it doesn't display any other road than the one you need to take, so you have no context, you just have to guess where the line is going.

Had an off this evening. Completely my fault. Approaching a zebra crossing and I see a gut coming from the right but it's split crossing and I thought I could make it. Didn't see the girl on the left though. I shoulder checked and when I looked front again the guy in front had stopped dead and I went straight into the back of him with an impressive somersault dismount onto my back.

Completely my fault.

Had a blow out later that put an inch slice in my tyre. Fortunately I had a boot with me.

hope yer ok asprilla :)

on a side note from my previous post, i have developed a lump and pain in the outside of my right knee just below the kneecap, from my research on it it would seem something like IBt or a possible meniscus tear anyone else had anything similar ?

absolute pain as i'm just getting back into it i dont want to have to take weeks off in order to rest :( I can ride on it and its not really that painful however bending my knee afterwards hurts a bit ?

Ive adjusted the saddle height as suggested and changed cleats and positions but whether the damage is done and i need rest, rather than continuing out on the bike is the question. Its not as bad as it was before i changed those things but thats not really conclusive evidence either way lol

It's sore now, as it has been after every ride since I started riding again :p. It's not particularly more sore than normal though, and I'm walking around ok so I guess its part of the recovery. I've got my normal physio session tomorrow so I'll mention it and see what they say.

Are you also seeing a podiatrist?

It may have no connection whatsoever with your ankle and my intention is not to worry you in any way but I injured both my ankles (tissue/ligament damage) a couple of years ago, had some physio and after a while he thought I had recovered OK and told me that I can carry on as normal.

Fast forward to a few months ago and I was getting pains after any impact sport and also, but less so after cycling. I was referred to a podiatrist, had tests and x-rays done and i've got spurring of bone (fragments of bone in my ligaments). Podiatrist told me it's because I didn't let my ankles recover for long enough even though they felt 100% when the physio had given me the OK and I started up sports again.

Now to have any chance of being totally pain-free I'll need surgery on both ankles and there's no guarantees it will cure them long-term.

When I did my ankle in a few months ago, they didn't even rebook me for physio sessions. They just told me they didn't need to see me again and not to play sports for 6 weeks!
Nearly 8 weeks later, I still don't think I'm ready to play sports. I can run fine (can't sprint yet), so will probably rest it for another month or two, as I don't want to rush it..
Swelling needs to go down as well. Ankles look awful side by side! :D

Glad you're ok :).

Not thought about seeing a podiatrist yet. I'll wait to see how impact goes once I start jogging again, but I'm a while off that yet.

mmmm let me think how many times in the last 15 years i have ever referred anyone to a podiatrist after an acute injury?

never.

don't waste your £

a good physio is better than any painkillers. 'fragments in the ligaments' after injury is due to an avulsion # at the time of injury and sod all to do with recovery period
