Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Anyone know any decent websites that covers the best use of classes, tactics and general how not to suck?

I imagine I'll get the hang of it overtime but thought I'd do a bit of reading as I can't get online until next week.

Also how do i go about joining the servers linked in the 1st post? Possibly a silly question.... :)

Is actually possible to be remotely good at flying planes and helicopters using mouse/keyboard? I've pretty much given up.
 
I'm currently trying to run it on a Phenom I 9950 and GTX280 (700mhz core) but only get 30fps max, 15fps min on certain maps on low details

Based on a Toms Hardware review of 30 cards mine should be doing closer to 50fps on low details. Is there much I can do except buy a new processor? Assuming the CPU is the bottleneck?
 
My god when will i get more than a full round in without kicked back to desktop :( crazy annoying or what :(
Had some good moments on the ocuk server but mainly dying like a trooper man this game is brutal lol :) game appears to run fine but they need to sort this crashing lark out...

Are you using the new 4 cap drivers? I tried them with my crossfire 5850's and it played terrible!! So I went back to the cap 3 drivers which work good for me. Except I can't even touch deferred antialiasing or I drop to 5fps from 50-60fps
 
BC2 single player seems to be longer than BF3's.

I am already on the 9th mission of a total of 12 missions.

I think BC2 had more or less same number but it definitely took me longer to complete.

This one appears to be darker and grim compared to BC2's humorous campaign.

Can you give and insight to how the screen shots detects a cheater? is he aiming/shooting through a wall? is this screenie what a cheater sees red markers for opponents?

His was a wallhack. He could tell by the size of the rectangles around the player how close or far away he was from them.

There may have been some assisted aiming, but he wasn't scoring highly, just high enough KD:R for me to suspect him.

Added him as a Friend on Battlelog and then proceeded to call him a cheating tard & that his ass was owned. :)

He even had the cheek to try to re-join my server. But he couldn't even get in the door :D
