Beat this pay rise!

Had one rise in 5 years, a huge rise of around £160,,,,,,a year.

Serious skin flint boss who doesn't value his staff at all. Which has a terrible effect on staff morale. Needless to say I am job hunting.

Is it a part time job

No.

or some sort of public sector employer

No.

where you get paid according to whatever generic class/pay band they slot your job into rather than based on individual performance/perceived value you add?

That's what happens with most private sector jobs too.

I just thought it was amusing that they'd bother with such a trivial increase.

We are still doing pay negotiations which started last April. We just rejected an offer of 2.2% which was double of the first offer. If we decline the next one they offer I think it goes to a external source.

In April I was top of the pay scale so no rise at all for me.

Then redundancys were made and I was promoted to the leavers job. so got a 2k increase. As an added bonus I am at the bottom of another scale so I will move up in April. we get a rubbish cost of living increase though. so if you work it out over 5 years (pre promotion) I was actually 10% worse off which is stupid.

I've just been told europe have been sticking their noses in again and I can only work 60 hours a week. That means I loose time and a half and double time pay so I've took a pay cut :-(

it's better then a kick in the ********! after all, theres a lot of people out there unemployed.
something is better then nothing. but as the one guy said, i hope your boss ainr rubbing it in your face, because lets be honest £73 a year isnt much! and it seems like abit of a joke..

I have worked for the same company since 2004 and had one pay rise since then and that was for a promotion .

Since then I have efectivley had a pay cut year on year.
