This will sort the oldies from the youths, what was your first ever PC and what do you remember about it?

Mine was a Amstrad CPC464, What a great system it was! with a massive 64kB of RAM it dominated the scene.

I remember some classics on that machine, the Dizzy series, Ikari Warriors, Gauntlet, Rick Dangerous II, Spellbound! anyone remember this? I could NEVER finish it, no matter how much i tried lol, the theme to it was awesome and I still remember it to this day:

I even had the pokes cartridge in the back of the keyboard :D

The games used to take about 45 mins to load and half the time they would crash lol

Bit of nostalgia for you :)

First PC was a 386 that's all I remember, oh and it was on w 3.1 too I think.

First GPU I brought was a voodoo(2 I think) 12 or 16mb I forgot lol.

Pentium II 350hz.

All i remember is having some horrible thing called navigator on it which looked like a sort of lounge where your files were on the bookshelf etc... ( i hated it )

Dam thing cost over 2K too

There were bought for me/teh family as I was too young to have money at the time.

But my earliest PCs were

Commodore PET (Green screen goodness lol. But games could be played, of the like of 3D monster maze, Space Invaders). It weighed a ton, obviously, and my dad used to bring it home from the office for us to play games on.. it usually stayed home for weeks.

ZX Spectrum 48k. Had one of these at home and also in the computer club at school. First started trying to program on this, and there were so many games available: I played arcade, RPG and platform mainly.
The PC with the funky rubber keyboard

and a BBC B (mainly for "Elite" duties :) ) which was considered a pretty decent home PC at the time

Commodore 64, my dad bought it to do his accounts but gave up. I started buying games for it. Most memorable would be Elite, Jet Set Willy, Manic Miner, Lords of Midnight etc. My first pc was a 386 dx 25, the first game I bought was Civilisation. The pc had 4mb of memory and 40mb of hard drive space.

We had a BBC B Microcomputer with Elite, Repton & Chuckie Egg as our favourites. When I left home, I bought an Amiga 600, then an Amiga 1200 modded with a 20MB internal HD. My first PC was an Atlantic Pentium P90 with free Mechwarrior II and Janes Longbow, before upgrading to a PII200. I replaced the PII for an Athlon 650Mhz & bought a Voodoo Banshee 2d/3d card when Falcon 4 & Janes F15 game out.
