I only see 2 like this the next one that is close by is not on fire.
It may or may not have been a player that did it or it could have been lighting
while the player was running around.

But since it is only 2 villages and they can be rebuilt if needs be i dont see any cause to worry about them. Just think of them as ruins :P
 
How do I eat food, i think in 3 days ive eated 20 pieces of watermelon. Good job you dont have to built toilets!

I chopped down a sheep and just got wool

Can you set infinate home locations to teleport to?
Thanks for the help Acid, I built a stone 'house' which took about 20 minutes but then realised your building was stretching into it. I'll check out your building in a few days or something as i have set it to my home2 location

Sheep don't drop food but cows, chickens and pigs do so go slaughter them! There is a melon farm near /spawn where you can quickly get your food fix as long as you re-hoe the land (tools are free to use in a chest there).

At the moment we do have infinite homes but this is something that will probably be changing soon where you will only have 2 /homes.

I used to house new players to the server in my build till they got on their feet :p

I would prefer this - A brand new fresh server, just raw materials and everyone collecting stuff together to make an initial home, collect food, farm etc

Then branching out to make their own homes when they have enough stuff.

I'm not learning much by being given iron ingots(?) torches etc. I dont even know how to make a torch or water. I set myself on fire because I didnt know how to put it out. I'm guessing I needed to collect water in something

Are there any brand new server where everyone starts with nothing and help each other?
 
There is never going to be a server where everyone starts with nothing. Unless you wait until later this month when the map is wiped of course.. ;)

You can ask for help, but just be aware other people on the server might be doing their own thing and wont have time to show you how to make a torch or a bucket to hold water in :D

In these cases the minecraft wiki is your friend.
 
Once retail is out there will be a period where everyone will start with nothing, yeah. After a few days/a week or two we will bring in the old world(s?) so people don't lose everything. This period should be interesting though :)

I don't know how it currently works or is going to work at retail release but would it be possible that before allowing people on to the server 2 things happen...
First off an admin designates a "no build area" for spawn (as you know the second everyone gets on and spawns we'll all climb over each other for prime real estate :p
Secondly could spawn be somewhat organised? rather than everyone just building around it willy nilly, could the builds local to spawn be organised by road/streets? That might sound a bit stupid but im a bit OCD like that haha

Both requests work in conjunction with the other really but i understand no one may agree with me :p
