Cheers.

There is an arrow on the top pointing in the direction of airflow. You can put them either way around so you have it as an intake or exhaust.

I know which way I need it blowing air. I just need to know which direction is which. I can't plug it in either. I can't see any arrows on it. I looked before posting.

When you say it blows down? Could you be a bit clearer. I've had a few fans that blow opposite directions.

Most however blow air from the ugly side.

front (where the fan is) to back (where the struts are). Got an apache black and it has arrows, showing which way is the airflow, and which way it rotates. It's a PWM fan, and can be used as a CPU heatsink fan, and those always have the good side sucking air.

Cheers. I couldn't see the arrows. I looked pretty hard. I must be going blind. I worked it out anyway.

However. I have a few queries I wonder any of you clever guys can work out.

My coolermaster V8's fan stopped working. I replaced it with the apache black. Which I'm assuming is better than the rubbish stock fan supplied by coolermaster.

I also cleaned off the old paste using arcti clean, purified the surface. Made sure it was super shiny and spotless. I applied brand new MX4. Attached my heatsink back down. Secured it on very tightly and I'm still getting the same temps as I was before.

So... What does that say about MX4 and the apache black fans?

Am I missing something here? Or isn't it supposed to have 30% greater airflow.

also not sure but the MX4 might need time to cure

This was my theory. When I replaced TIM on a laptop a month or two back. The night I did it. It was in the 80's 90's. The next morning it was in the 50's.

However. This was cheapo paste from the high street. Not sure if MX 4 is the same?

Can anyone shed light on this?

according to the product description there is no curing time required for MX4. But the original coolermaster fan provides a greater airflow 69.69 CFM compared to the 57.53 CFM of the apache black

You may find the CM spins a lot faster than the Apache to create similar airflow and heatsink penetration. Apache fans are well regarded but I don't know about 30% extra airflow over a standard fan. I'd expect the CM spins at 2000 while the Apache are 1300 or 1400rpm. I forget exactly and I use one in my case.

Every fan I've ever had blows in the same direction - towards the frame that holds the motor.

So in your image above, the "bottom" or "back".
