Using a couple of Noiseblocker BlackSilent PRO PK3's as case intakes but not really happy with them, anyone tried these ? i know the 120mm Apache's are pretty good just wondered if the 140mm variant is decent.

Apache 140

I've got four apache fans in my antec 300, two intake, two exhaust, the apache 140 exhaust works a treat, nice and quiet, moves a good amount of air, would recommend it anytime.

Why aren't you happy with the Noiseblockers? If it's because of noise, I'd pick up either a Deepcool UF-140 or Thermalright TY-140.

Be careful with the Thermalright TY-140 a lot of users have problems fitting them as they are bigger than a standard 140mm fan.

I have only used yate loon d14sl and gelid wing 14's, the gelids are very good fans.

or one of the 140 mm BeQuiet! or search out some Antec TrueQuiets.

Yeah, the Bequiet! Silent Wings are excellent case fans. Don't know about the Antec, though, haven't used them or seen them tested yet.

They have 120mm holes, so as long as theres enough space in the case, there shouldn't really be a problem.

I have some redundant 140mm truequiets, when they were used they were dead silent at 800rpm moving circa 30cfm of air.

I would go for the 140 Apaches, the 120mm ones are near silent so surely the 140mm fans are going to be even quieter.

Well, they do shift a decent about of air but they can have a bit of a clicking noise at times, seems the actual fan walks along the bearing shaft, they will have to have 140mm mounting as that is what i have, i was looking at the Bequiet and also the Scythe Slipstream, If they made the Gentle Typhoon's in 140mm flavour there would be no argument imo lol

Using a pair of silverstone air penetrator 140's as intakes, very good focused airflow and not to loud at full speed, (i have them on a fan controller).

The Apache 140mm I have is fitted to the top of the case and is a mounted horizontally. It fits an 140mm mount with rubber push pins, well seated. As with the other three 120mm apache fans I have it makes no noise at all apart from air movement. There is no clicking noise from either of the three vertical mount fans if they were susceptible to walking the bearing shaft, though I cant see it myself, they are a quality fan and well constructed. All are very fluid and silent mechanically. I have had these fans for two months.

Tbh the noiseblockers seem to have settled down atm, i'll wait and see how they go and if they start becoming audible again ill maybe get a couple of the Apache's.
