Cuddly toys/mascots hanging from the rear towing eye?

Saw a pickup with a large pink scrotum gently swaying from the towbar the other day, got a chuckle from me even though I'd never do it myself!
 
This was all the rage in Norfolk last year. Every Euroed-up hatch had a soft toy dangling from the tow loop, and now it's becoming a firm favourite with people in West Sussex.
 
Half the scooters I see parked up in Chelmsford have at least one Smurf hanging from them, there's a few with about four.

It's just a fad.

Does it not come, indirectly, from the subway train rings that bosozoku cars often have on the towing eye? And then from there to the drift scene and then obviously when it got to England we had to swap it for something crap like a cuddly toy from Mcdonalds.
 
I hung an Angry Bird soft toy off the back of my MX5 about 2month back, since then 3 people at work have copied with differant Angry Bird toys.
 
I feel left out, I got absolutely nothing like such outside or inside my car.

Not even a sticker or air fresher.

I think this is an incredibly naff trend, along with all the stickering up that goes on... owners club or website sticker is fair enough if you keep it subtle, but when its a whole rear window covered with random stickers stating such profound statements as 'BANG TIDY', 'DUBway' and 'JDM as ****' (usually on a badly modified UKDM civic for added lame) it looks terrible. Then there's the Hawaiin flower things hanging from the rear view mirror, gotta be as distracting as anything and also obstructs the view!

I just don't get it! And I'm not anti mod or personalisation when it comes to cars, my car is heavily modded compared to most peoples on here, but some of the bizarre 'scene' trends I don't get at all!

I think it looks quite novelty, not doing anyone any harm and it's not horrifically modifying the car in any way. Like a YoYo, it's just a fad that will go away.

Its becoming the latest chav mod. Its almost as chav as the tribal decals that became so popular after fast & furious came out.
 
An easy way to spot small penis buttholes in the US is to look at the towbar of their truck to see if it has a set of testicles hanging from it. Mostly they're chrome but during hunting season there’ll be an increasing amount of real scrotums hanging from there.

Those trucks are usually piloted by rednecks dressed from head to toe in camo gear for their trip to Walmart.
 
I saw lots of those hunters this morning at the petrol station. Best thing I've seen is a fifyeen foot shark tied to the roof.
 
It's nothing new just a retruning fad. People have been putting bobble head puppys/dog in back window and the like in cars for decades. All we now need is a craze for Darren & Sharon windscreen stickers.
