My girlfriend and I: stopped work for life on benefits

I can't blame you for taking advantage of a flawed system, but it does go to show the flaws. it should never be better to claim benefits than to work.

Well my girlfriend has decided to give up work as we will be better off on benefits. She was doing 18 hours a week part time but now she is quitting work to go on income support as having 2 kids, with one thing or another she will get £450 a week in benefits. we only just realised this and it is literally better in this country to not work, than than to try and work and bring in a poor income for effort.

We have never been on benefits, but now we have realised this, we think what the hell, this life is here for the taking, good old liblabcon as thety have made this possible.

You will probably thing this is outrageous, but who can blame us, in fact who can blame anyone for doing this, there are few jobs anyway.

Well it's not my tax money so I can't hate you (though I don't blame you either for taking advantage of a system which basically screams abuse me) but I do think it's a joke that people can get so much money from benefits (this country is no better). I'm not exactly sure how it could be done without affecting currently employed people but there should be some form of token community service for all those on benefits which, if they don't do, they don't get paid. Those on long term benefits should be deported (unless they have a genuine reason other than being too lazy to work).

JSA & benefits won't increase, by working diligently you can expect to see increases over the life of your career which should be proportionate to your effort and ability. Perhaps if you'd worked harder sooner you'd be on a better wage than you are now, instead of dropping out, and having society fund your laziness.

You disgust me.

Why not, everyone else seems to be doing it.

What people fail to realize is wages aren't going up but the rent seems to be on the rise, So I can understand It not being financially beneficial for some to go to work for peanuts.

Pride? I think that went out of the window years ago :(

O well. Plenty of time to make more babies and then you will be an ideal candidate for Jeremy Kyle when the wife falls out with you and the 12 kids are going mental.

I kid you not, we have a housing assoc that is £80 a week, why wouldn't you do this ?

Because I would rather EARN my money? I ENJOY work and I ENJOY making friends at work and I also have PRIDE in bettering myself. I LIKE getting up for work in the morning.

Anyway, as mentioned, obvious troll is obvious.

If you are not trolling, how will you fill your days? In my brief stint of unemployment I was actually bored out of my mind, played computer games all day and in retrospect I think I actually became slightly depressed!

If and I mean IF you are serious, you sound proud of it.......God can only imagine what sort of council scum you must be

we are both from good homes, never lived in council housing, found our way into it after 18months on the waiting list. we have a housing assoc place in a nice private/newish housing estate that is all private bar 5 houses out of 30ish

And back in the real world.....
