Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

just a heads up,my copy hasn't come yet

Even though you said yours was dispatched ages ago I have a feeling they update the status to dispatched but then hold copies until the official release date. Not sure about Asda but I'm fairly sure that Amazon will change the status of your package to dispatched, then hand it over to Royal Mail or whoever else and then they hold the package from there.

Still nothing, GAME posted it saturday, was hoping I'd get lucky and have it arrive today, evidently not.

They just said that, I got a dispatch email on Thursday. They sent another email on Sunday saying Activision has requested that all stores hold off on dispatching the game until Monday November 7th and we will honour that request. Nothing from game would've been posted until today.

It'll have been posted, it'll just be sat at the sorting office with a big sticker on it saying DO NOT DELIVER UNTIL THE 8TH NOV on it.

Same happened with GoW3. My copy was shipped from game about 4 days early, but I didn't see it until the release day.

Has anybody pre-ordered with ShopTo?

I got a TNT dispatch on Saturday but am not sure if it will be waiting for me when I get home :(

Are you sure? It's just they made a big deal out of it at the end of the email saying not to worry about dispatch being postponed because Royal Mail first class delivers on the next working day 93% of the time or words to that effect. If it's sat at the sorting office, that would be great. A lot of people on here seem to get worked up if a game doesn't arrive early, I honestly don't care as long as it lands on release date but don't get me wrong seeing it early is a nice surprise at times. If the game arrives late however.. well, that's a different story.

:D

I am of the same opinion as you, couldn't care less if it comes early as long as it's not late.

As it looks now, my Blockbuster order will be late. Especially as I know the postal service in Stratford is appalling.

Activision has had the same policy in place for MW2, World at War and Black Ops. A large games retailer may be able to have the stock held at the sorting office in advance, or in the case of smaller ones, notified of a large collection today for Royal Mail to pickup.

It's similar to how Apple had couriers hold the iPhone 4S shipments until the actual release date last month.

The depot is about 5 minutes from my house, but sadly there is probably about the grand total of 2 postman for the whole area, this results in deliveries at 3pm+, and post taking days to turn up.

A few months ago, for no reason whatsoever, there was a two week backlog of mail.
