Yes, it may actually be better considering the menus were made with consoles in mind.

To be fair, it is a real shame it doesn't use Dx11. Can only hope the excellent modding community gets to work..

TW2 is only DX9, I didnt see too many complaints about that.

Most people found it to be the best looking game ever, and even the Vram troll constantly uses that game as an example in his silly meaningless graphs / Vram trolling all the time.

I know what you mean, but I'm glad at the same time. Hopefully my Q6600, 4GB Ram and 4870 will be enough to play at decent settings

I'm pretty sure ''The Witcher 2" is in DX9, although the Gamebryo engine is severely limited and the wot i think on RPS suggest that is the basis of the 'new' engine.

Gamebryo didn't look too bad once it was overhauled for Dvinity 2: DKS.

. First time ive ever got something early from them.

Trying to use an Australian VPN with my disk but doesn't seem to work. Guess ill just have to wait until tomorrow

My sound device in windows was set to output at 192khz 24bit. When I set this back to 44.1khz 16bit it fixed the problem!

So to check, in win7 go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound

Pick your sound device that is set as default, click Properties.
Go to the Advanced tab and make sure the 'Default Format' it is set to 44.1khz 16bit.

I actually was able to set mine to 96khz 24bit and it works aswell, just doesn't seem to like 192khz.

Just seen this, might help some people that are having problems:

If anyone is having the game fail when it reaches the main menu, the solution posted over at the official forums is to go to Sound in the Control Panel, click on Properties for your sound device, and under the Advanced tab select a sound format that isn't 24bit 192khz (i.e. 24bit 96khz works for me).

thanks but wont need it anymore

the guy on suport fixed my account he said it bugged and didnt generate my files properly when i paid.

btw once this is done i stick steam in offline mode and disable the vpn and thats it? if any patchs come out ill need to connect to steam with the vpn on again?
