so i built my new rig a few weeks ago, since i added another 580 to it when i turn it on all the lights come on on the tower and it seems like its going to start but after about 10 seconds it turns off and restarts its self and it goes all the way to the os.

all drivers upto date...

any ideas guys???

I've had this on an X58 build but I never found a solution sorry. I'm assuming the CPU fan gets to spin up then stops and restarts.

Andi.

I had this problem on a P8Z68-V Pro motherboard, although it isn't identical to yours my problem was exactly the same.

Turn on PC, wait 10 seconds and then restart straight to the OS.
After countless tinkering and messing around i had to navigate to the BIOS AI Tweaker and set the AI overclock tuner to X.M.P. because auto tune put it in manual (or AUTO).

This worked perfectly after saving and retrying, apparently it has something to do with the BIOS setting the BCLK higher than what it is and the RAM profile needed to be set to X.M.P as that is what it was configured to (G.Skill Ripsaw).

Hope this helps in some way =].

This is common with ASUS boards, would'nt take me to long to find other people with the same behavior (^ didnt even have to look, lol). I was speaking to some guy a while ago, and it is what he called "normal" for them to do this.

What PSU do you have.

From what I understand it does that when you use the motherboards auto overclocking features, it has to restart to apply the overclock. If you overclock the system yourself instead of the motherboard automatic overclock profiles, does it not stop doing that ?
