Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

I would guess by the amount of people who recieved this game on launch day and even the day before that not many retailers took notice of any policy. It would surely be impossible to do release day delivery if they couldn't post until Monday night.

No, I believe all retailers did adhere to the policy, it's one of Activisions rules, otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to sell the game.

The majority of games would have been received, but Royal Mail 1st Class isn't guaranteed next day, so that's why people might not have got them. E-Retailers needs to be able to send the game out at least two days before...

For example, my copy of Assassins Creed Revelations from Shopto has shipped today, which means it might come Monday, but I will defiantly have it for release day on Tuesday. If it ships Monday, that is less so.

The something I would like to see changed in Survival at this point is some way to play all difficulties on each map. I wouldn't care if it was unranked.

Loving the single player and survivor mode, not convinced of multiplayer yet. Far too many people who just sit in a corner and pick you off as soon as a pixel of your skin comes round the corner. Maps are too complicated for most of the modern warfare lot to handle methinks.

My thoughts exactly, most of the time online i'm just running around like a headless chicken, started playing Ground War as i seem to get more kills throught he virtue of plenty of other headless chickens lol
One other thing i noticed is in a one on one situation i nearly always come off worse, i fire off a load but the killcam has me hardly raising my weapon in anger !!

What is this Riot Shield "boosting" i hear speak off and how do i spot it ?

Well .... No.

CEX were selling copies early that people had traded in :

and in the US. K Mart were selling them early:

There were copies to be had from retailers breaking the embargo if you wanted them.

From the killcam it seems to be the gun that kills me a fair bit. I might just be unlucky. I am pretty terrible at this game online!

Quite enjoying the game now that I've learnt the maps a little bit, one thing really bugs me though, the rank icons. They used to be sexy, I wonder who thought it would be a good idea to put a horrible camo background on all the ranks after the sergeant stripes. It looks HORRIFIC. :(

That's one store in the UK.
I'm sure there are plenty of independents and such who flouted it for the business or to jack up prices.

But as far as pre-orders go, the likes of Amazon, Game (incorporating Gamestation & Gameplay), the UK Supermarkets E-Stores, the big High-Street's online E-stores are all the major players and adhered to it.

That's the point, if they can't post a couple of days early, of course people aren't guaranteed to get them release day, which is obviously the reason people place a pre-order online and generally isn't an issue with other games.

It'll be down to the fact that there's lots of new players using it then that haven't unlocked anything better yet.

Played quite a bit of survivor last night with Wyrdo. What a let down that is. It badly needs more than 2 players to make it a better experience where you can dig in a bit. Otherwise in the latter levels where you have to go and buy more ammo etc you are leaving the area where you have fortified to a degree and your team mate has to come with you.

It's a very good base to work from but like the SP needs an overhaul this needs more players badly to give it any longevity. It's a shame they didn't drop spec ops completely from the disc and just make a better survivor mode :)

Leave the last enemy chasing one of you and the other goes get perks etc then swap over :) oh and level 25 so far on insane on Bakkara......

To be fair, i thought that too. But there were some in here who got their pre orders early.

Acitivision can bluster all the want, a large chunk of retailers took no notice. And activision aren't about to stop lots of retailers from selling the game. They can't afford to.

Gamestop had been posting copies early:

thegamecollection.net were posting early

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=20488806&postcount=2145

And the independent retailers like you mentioned

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=20489022&postcount=2149

It looks as though the big supermarkets (Asda and Tesco) were adhering to the embargo, as was game. But lots of others didn't

No I get killed by the UMP a lot too. I think it's people using rapid fire (if that's still in it) - you don't get a chance to respond.
