OK so I was hoping to grab Skyrim on Steam tonight after hearing it's not too demanding (I was going to wait until I upgraded my PC in the new year first). However apparently CF is not currently supported?

I have 2x5770 and a Q8300 at 3.2ghz. How are other CF users faring? A tweet from ATI recently announced they're working on a CAP file to fix the issue. How is it possible they didn't realise this until AFTER release? Beggars logic.

cross fire does seem to work but its a bit hit & miss, when i first start up Skyrim it runs like an absolute dog on ultra, however when i Alt-Tab out and in again and it runs brilliantly, very smooth.
after Alt-Tab afterburner shows both cards working about 70-80% before and after.
bizarre:confused:
look forward to the new CAP fix.

Just seems like another case of poor ATI support. How they weren't able to to access a pre-release build and test CF performance is beyond me.

wouldnt go that far, its completely playable for me anyway, inconvenient yes but not unplayable.

Erm, why would you leave xfire enabled when its producing negative scaling and such poor minimum FPS, when a single GPU gets you much better results?

According to a guy on rage 3d (spyre, a guy with a permanent stick in his ass judging from his attitude in posts, but also a beta tester for ati) :

AMD had a profile for this game based on the code which was supplied by he developer. The developer didn't provide the final game code which was different to the previous code so the previously created profile didn't work properly. So the game needs re-profiling.

So if you want to whine to anyone whine to the game developer.

Works exceptionally fine on my 6970 lightning xfire system, everything ultra and 4aa at 1920x1200.
Had the same thing with BF3, almost everyone with crossfire having problems, not me :o lucky I guess.

11.9 CCC, 11.9CAP4

That guy really annoys me. Anytime you say there is a problem you get responses it doesn't happen with him and usually followed by insults/abuse then followed by cursing. I've had to report him before which was dealt with.

He has no tact, no respect, brash and arrogant towards the majority of people. Sometimes reading his posts over the years it's like the behaviour and attitude of a spoiled bitter child.

For someone who is a beta tester for AMD you'd think he would show a better standard of conduct. Not become as bad as some other posters and fall to their level. Or it appears that is his level. Two wrongs make a right in his view.

edit nvm

It is annoying that crossfire isn't supported for what is literally the biggest PC game of the year though. You look at the Steam stats, Skyrim is doing four times the amount of current players as the previous game.

Crossfire is fine for BF3, but i don't know what relevance that has in this thread :p

Because, herpderp, for some of us it performs better. (4870x2) latest drivers.

He's an ass to say the least, sad thing is his profile says he's 39, with the mental age of an angsty 8 year old from the looks of things. He really should have been given the boot from that forum long ago.
