If you paid a tenner for these, would you sell them!?

A 'sample sale', no boxes, unfeasibly cheap, buy as many as you can afford? Why does this seem so dodgy? What possible reason would a company like Converse have to sell them so cheap to people they know are simply going direct to Ebay to undermine and undercut the official distribution channels?

Sell them and buy a pair you actually like, no doubt you'll have £ left over. Sample sales are good, sometimes...but its mostly the horrible stuff that is left over (if you got there late?) or purely because they wont sell anyway. Nothing really dodgy about sample sales, it just ends up towards the end being all the sizes most people don't fit etc, or the ones left over because nobody else was fussed.

CAN OF WORMS! You just opened one bro.

They do it every year, calm your beans.

Indeed. It's generally the ones that haven't passed the merchandiser approval - it might be a fault/flaw that the general wearer wont notice, but still wont get through in bulk. Sometimes down to something as silly as misprints etc too.

Probably the same reason paypal gave away £100000, it's probably part of their advertising budget.

Paypal gave away £100,000 and gained massive exposure. I'm not sure how selling trainers at 90% off to people on the basis of who happens to work in the same building has the same effect :p

I can see why they'd get rid of seconds, flawed goods and stuff which they simply couldnt sell. But if this was the case then its quite clear that they are not worth £100 as the OP seems to beleive, hence ending up there in the first place.

Me either tbh, but who cares! Going to sell 3 pairs I think and keep the rest. Selling one to a friend for £10.

Well done. You win! You can now go to bed a happy man.

Pathetic thread here but can't make my mind up :(

Paid £10 for these as I work in the same building as Converse.

Worth £70

Reap in or keep. I kind of like them

Got a Pair of UK size 12? Trust me ;)

Well it looks like Converse's marketing tactic has paid off. Lots of exposure on here! Even if you are going to sell, impressions have been made!
