*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Added you Scarecrow :)

Goon wait a while m8 till dates announced loads of people have mutliple accounts so spare ones will be going m8.

Funny enough the guild was going to launch as a Sith Guild, but then about 18 months back we saw a poll which had roughly 10K+ votes.

Two things stood out in that poll 1) that the majority of the player base (on that poll about 65%) were gong Sith.

But it was the second reason on that poll about 1/3 of them were 13 years or less in age and almost all I know it was very high in the 90% voted to go Sith .

So we had out own poll and swapped sides, but even when we had the original vote it was a close thing that Sith won, so did not take much of a swing.

But now that I'm playing Sith this build I can honestly say I am more than happy that we are going Republic (I voted Sith in both our polls :p), not only do I prefer the Republic characters I much prefer the republic story line, the Sith side feels very much more limited, and kinda forced (no pun intended :D), even tho I enjoy the BH I know that I prefer the Trooper to it.

Looking to Join a PvP Republic UK/EU guild check us out! and on swtor

Wab I thoughty your guild is 18+ so how did all those kids get to vote ?

Also why dont you get Black Sun Pirates as adverseries then you can do ocuk battles against each other that would be fun wouldnt it? Especialy as having them as adverseries would get you both on the same pvp server wouldnt it?

I'd beware of putting too much faith in internet polls. Depending on where the poll was conducted i.e. site your demographic will change. My experience is a lot of MMO veterans seem to be going Sith. What will be of interest is what do the masses with casual interest in MMO's and Star Wars go for? My bet is good guys with glow sticks, will be interesting to see:cool:

On Betacake there is also a poll on class choices and on there too it has Sith in the top 3. I think this is due the Sith getting the most coverage at game expos etc. I think Mr Reid enjoys playing sith as this what he demos every time he plays.

I think this will defiantly change once the full beta starts in a week or two as people will try all classes and make a decision form that. Saying that I can still see Sith and Jedi been the two most popular come launch.

I'm wondering now if when the beta weekend comes should I even play it now. Reasoning that I'll wanna carry on playing it and won't be able to, and just save it for release! Only a month away now.

To be honest guys they are all fun in their own right, and the stories are great fun; I decided to roll a BH in the last few sessions - and omg they are so much fun, just destructive - went Merc!

I've had:

Jedi Sage - Level 16 - Seer Tree
Imperial Sniper - Level 26 - Marksman/Sniper Tree (forget what its called)
Sith Juggernaught - Level 24 - Immortal Tree
Sith Sorcerer - Level 23 - (forgot Tree name, healer one)
Smuggler Gunslinger - Level 15 - Marsman Tree (think its marksman?)
Bounty Hunter Mercinary - Level 15 - Arsenal Tree
Jedi Sentinel - Level 13 = forgot what tree
Jedi Shadow - Level 12 = forgot what tree

Only thing i've not touched is the trooper!!

I am rolling Jedi Sage - Seer as my main so stopped playing at 16 to save some excitment for the main game; focussed mainly on Sith purely because i wont during launch so wont be so bad when i have to do DK/Balmorra for the umpteenth time!!

Amazingly fun game solo or with friends, gripping story, you feel connected to your characters. For a non serious MMO player (CoH background) - this is the perfect combo for me - i dont know enough about the WoW scene to compare or suggest it will hold the masses; but i've tried a lot of MMO (Rift, DCUO, WoW) - and this one gripped me instantly.

are you in beta now? weekend one or full?

Looks like my BH got wiped, must have been on a weekend server unless not all servers are online :(

Good excuse to try something new tomorrow.

Is this closed beta everyone has been invited too this weekend? a lot of people on the SW:TOR forums have emails mentioning they have to accept the invitation before midnight on the 18th (this Friday).

Either this or the US stress test is sooner than ours?

Edit: Nevermind just realised the above date is the beta code deadline and not the beginning of the beta weekend.

One word "Jealous", my friend in work got full bata access last Thursday and he says he enjoying it but not as much as winding me and everyone else up in the office about playing it.
