A Rare rjk Spec Me Thread: Quiet Power Supply

I have an Antec TruePower New 550W Modular and it is great, not many wires coming out of it to start with, so not too hard to hide the ones you are not using, and it is nice and quiet.

Reasonably priced too :D

Personally, the ST1000P would be my choice.

Excellent build quality, 100% modular, compact, single rail (a very very good one) and Silverstone are win as they made the TJ07 and RV2

if price was no issue, what would you go for, build quality and cable presentation wise?

Corsair AX.

the reason you may have heard rubbish things about the AX1200 is because its made by Flextronics, the rest are all Seasonic.

looking at the johnyguru reviews the ax1200 was given top marks more or less across the board with high efficency, the ax750/850 on the other hand showed under gold standard in some of the tests.

now I'm no expert :)

The noise, not the efficiency;)

i would never have an ax1200 anyway, they chirp horribly.

Thats why I said the difference in maker, might explain the coil whine hes on about.

don't recall the review mentioning the chirp, is it a well documented problem? I could do a google search but while we have the master ;)

p.s. any replies regarding the tri-xfire psu requirement? :)

Jonny tests are at the US 110V. The efficiency improves with higher voltages.

It's basically a Seasonic X850. Solid Gold standard. That is until the Seasonic Platinum's show up.

Seasonic X-650/750. The AX series are based upon them, but aren't quite the same (basically are marginally worse than the X-series). I could swear the fan never actually comes on, and it's powering my sig rig without complaints (Hardware Secrets tested it to nearly 800W, and it was still 84% efficient even then - this being in their hot-room too).

Plus, Seasonic's support were helpful when I requested another set of cables for braiding purposes without voiding the warranty.

Glad RJK made this thread, I now have narrowed my PSU choice down to 3 :D

So when will we see Seasonic instock RJK?

And thanks to everyone for all the info and links posted!
