i am now gaming pc less and will be working away a lot , think the vita is best way to go ?
whos getting one , and what cant you wait to play, thoughts so far from what you have seen heard.....

Preordered mine, unsure if Ill keep it - really need a job with a train commute to make use of it :p. Gave up my DS due to my iPhone so Vita may go the same way...

ps3ud0

All I can say is: Bye bye Xbox, Bye bye PS3. Hello Vita!

Serisouly, the 2 consoles will barely get a look in to be honest.

Looking forward to Wipeout for certain as a launch title and will get Everybody's Golf too as I like those on handhelds.
Hear there is a Persona game, and another SHin Megami game which i'll deffo be getting as soon as they are out.

Along with that, I have all Final Fantasy games ready to play from 1 through 9...may even give the abomination that is 10 a go when the HD one is released.

Will be getting Metal Gear HD on it too and Disgaea 3 (and 4 if they do it...hope so).

I've always liked handhelds to take to work or play an hour in bed etc. But with the Vita, there is finally a handheld that offers me enough to turn off my console and get out the handheld at home.
PS3 and Xbox 360 are pretty dead now...with nothing of interest to me curently scheduled for 2012...except the odd 1 or 2 games.

Shifting all my focus towards Vita come Feb.
Cross game chat, Skype etc all making this even better.

I'll be getting one for sure, looking forward to playing Rayman on it as I think it's a perfect hjandheld game and the colours are going to look fantastic on that screen. Also looking forward to things like Uncharted, Wipeout, Super Stardust Delta, Sound Shapes, and possibly LBP, Modnation Racers and Dragons Crown.

Like Blitzwing I also have FF7,8 & 9 waiting to play (I've finished 8, played about half of 7 and never even played 9) as well as Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 & 3 (free for PS+ this month if the offer is still up), I also have GT PSP and a few other games digitally downloaded so again more content ready for the Vita to play

I'll probably end up getting the Vita, a 32gb card, a case and a screen protector on lanch day if I can get my hands on them.

I will probably get one assuming it plays the games I bought for my PSP Go. I won't buy it at launch though, hopefully there will be some good deals around in the not too distant future :)

Having completely bypassed the PS3, and the 3DS being a huge let down to me, I think I might have to invest in the Vita, though I might not get it at launch. I'll have to see what the launch titles are like.

It does indeed play all digital PSP games :)

Im getting one day one along with a 32gb card hopefully.
I got final fantasy 7,8,9 on psn, is that how you guys are gonna transfer it onto your vita from your ps3 or is there another way?

You can either transfer from the PS3, download direct from the PSn over WiFi or transfer from your PC. So if you wanted to you could just get a smaller card, download all your Vita games onto the PS3 or Pc and then just transfer over the ones you want to play.

If you own a PS3 do you extra features if you also have a vita? Do they combine in any way?

There are a couple of things lined up. One is cross platform play, so you could play Wipeout on your vita and your mate could be playing on his PS3 and you can play online just like everyone else. The race could be 7 vitas and 1 PS3 or 1 vita and 7 PS3s or any number in the middle.

Also is what has been dubbed "transfarring" Hideo Kojima. Essentially you can play your Vita game wherever you are, sae to the cloud/transfer to your PS3 and then pick right up playing on the other format. Similarly you could play on your PS3, transfer the save to the vita and then carry on playing. This has been announced for Ruin (Diablo style game) & Dragons Crown as well as all future Hideo Kojima games as well as the HD remasters of MGS 2 & 3 I'm sure It'll also be supported in games that are direct ports instead of gimped ones where the game is fundamentally different so that a save wouldn't work.

The limiting factor here is going to be how you get the PS3 and Vita versions of the game. If you have to straight up by two copies then it's never going to take off. Dragons Crown and Ruin have been touted as having both versions when you buy it but there is no certainty of anything yet. Price is going to be the limiting factor for a neat feature sadly.

Another feature that was sorely underused on the PSP was Remote play. Thats back and has already been shown off with Killzone. It's still a "in development" part of the system and due to a very slight overhead on the PS3 end it's going to be something that developers have to check will work first.

any good rpg's lined up for it?

Last we heard there were 26 games for the Japanese launch in under a months time and a total of 100 in development. I've no doubt there are some RPGs in there. Square have already announced the FFX remaster will be on Vita as well as PS3, as for new games, Ruin is in that vein, and Atlus and Level 5 have both announced titles in development. As for western RPGs, I have no idea.

Sony's new handheld.

I won't be getting one, simply because I wouldn't use it when I go out and when I'm at home I'll be using my PS3 anyway.

Interesting factoid, EA recently did a survey and they found that something like 50% of all handheld/portable gaming is done at home.

I'm pretty skeptical about the entire thing tbh, mainly because i think the era of dedicated handheld consoles has been and gone.

Some of the games do interest me, like Uncharted, but i'll see what it's like first before i invest, although the £200+ price tag is a bit steep imo.

I have to disagree. Until you can play on a phone/tablet with buttons like on a DS/3DS/VPSP/Vita and until people start releasing larger games on said phones/tablets, there will always be a market. Touchscreens are an incredible bonus to have, but not having any buttons to press severely limits what can be achieved.

Bear in mind that so far the 3DS is selling faster than the original DS did and smartphones are far more prevalent now than they were back in 2004.

I plan to pick one up if and when the funds are available, for two simple reasons...

I'll buy any console that has an uncharted game on it.

I can sit on the sofa playing it when the other half wants to watch junk like x factor on the tv.
