Best 120hz 24" for £250-£300

The new BenQ 120HZ is out now, called XL2420T, features the Nvidia 3D 2.0 and they're releasing another version of the monitor at the end of the month called the 'XL2420TX'.
The 'XL2420TX' version will be compatible with blu-ray/ps3 3d and is boxed with the new nvidia 3d kit. I'm holding out for that one !

The XL2420T isn't actually out yet in the UK but retail availability is expected by late November. :)

The XL2420T has an RRP of £299 and should retail at around £270 initially. The XL2420TX is still to be confirmed.

I'm looking forward to the XL2420T, the XL2410T is used in a lot of gaming areas as it has a very low input lag, perfect for games where frames matter. FPS' & fighting games.

Although not a 24" monitor, what would be the better pick between a Samsung S23A700D (similar to the S23A750D ) or the BenQ XL2420T?
This would be used for general internet browsing and FPS gaming.

I should have a XL2410T arriving tomorrow, I'll preform some test and let you know what I think - but that will be subjective.

Correct, it will be. Like others inc of yourself, I've read mixed reviews on it. So it will be interesting to see if I get one of the goodins.

I'll post my thoughts either tomorrow (typical that it's one of the rare occasions that I'm out with the Mrs tomorrow) or Friday :)

Ok, typing on the screen now and these are my first impressions - calibrate it as best you can with sites like http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/. Change mode from FPS to Standard and enable Direct input.

The colours are not as good as Dell it's replaced but my god does it game well. I can't believe how little input lag there is and 120hz over 60 is noticeable.

No dead pixels and very (I mean) very little light leakage.

I'll write a better review for you later, the wife is taking out tonight :)

i really need a 120hz LCD is it worth going 27" like the samsung A950D or is it just overpriced and are there 24" monitors or 27" just as good?

are the new Benq's gonna be anygood also?

@ allday247

I've had time to play it for a little while now.

As I've already stated, calibrate it to your liking (for me, turn the back light and contrast down). Turn instant mode on via the menu and game. Some of the games I play BF3. CoD WaW had to be tweaked a little - eg, BF3 refresh rate for the monitor to work at 120hz but my graphics cards sits around the upper 60's to 80 fps - the difference is noticeable to me.

Desktop use is fine, just adjust the win 7 clear text to suit your preference. Colours are good for TN screen and general usage is 'nicer' thanks to the 120hz desktop.

I've been brief because I'm rubbish of at writing any kind of review, but if you have any questions, just shout at me :)

Asus VG236HE 23" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

I bought one of these second hand from the members market, best purchase Ive ever made, BF3 in 120Hz is unreal and makes a hell of a difference compared to a 60hz monitor.

I would never NEVER be able to go back to a 60hz monitor.
