My 'Apple fanboy alert' senses seem to be tingling a lot around your posts :p

Unlocking my phone with my face is not going to be useful ???? GET OUT!

No, it's more likely because I'm the only person that really talks about Apple in here.

An Apple fanboy wouldn't be buying a Galaxy Nexus instead of an iPhone 4S.

It could be very useful, but it's not a security feature. If it's very fast to unlock the device and works flawlessly in various conditions then it could be brilliant, but I doubt it.

Will it work in the dark for example? Probably not.

Out of all Robbo's posts you decide to pick that one to call him an Apple fanboy?:p.

My opinion on face unlocking is similar to my opinion on Siri and other voice control/assistant apps, they're a bit crap and useless :p.

It seems really fast, used the phone for a good 20mins in p4u today tried it in light and dark condition and seemed really good. It was very fast and it does seem to save you sometime as well. Hopefully it just works like that all the time but overall I was really impressed with the phone.

Cant get over just how amazing the screen its just wow nothing comes close to it. overall the phone is very snappy didnt notice even a tiny bit of lag. The camera is actual quiet good and its even faster than the 4s although neither will allow you to just take non stop photos without the photos ending up very blurry.

The dimensions are really nice, its only slightly wider than my SGS which makes it very useable in 1 hand it is although quiet tall but thanks to the buttons all being on the side its still good. The back cover is like the s2 but it evens even softer and just as sturdy phone feels very well built and I cant really fault it expect having a underwhelming GPU which I still dont get why new phone such as this and the razr are running it.

Overall I think this phone is going to be really great hopefully it has the battery life to back it up as I find the rest to be great.

I love how everyone's bashing face unlock for it being fooled by a picture.

In reality if you lose your phone, or if it's stolen, unless the thief takes your picture and you have the exact same expression as you use to unlock your phone, then it's a non-issue.

Thats what I thought! Its a great extra anti theft thing.

Guys, face unlock is a gimmick. When you're sitting on the train trying to line your face up with the camera correctly, it's not going to be convenient. You're still going to do that grid based unlock at the end of the day.

I swear, these geeks sometimes.

Hmmm, Android looks like it's actually starting to look like a proper OS rather than a number of features glued together in a bit of a disjointed way, with the cracks covered over by launchers/sense/touchflo. I'll definitely have to have a look at some phones when my contract finishes. Still the style isn't quite as nice as WP IMO but it looks nicer than iOS.

Hmmm this may have got me very interested in the Nexus... have been on the fence about which phone to buy but this actually looks pretty awesome!

Having picked up the phone today and tried the face unlock, Ive got to say its pretty fast and it works well. It isnt fussy at all about face alignment so long as you get your face reasonably close to the circle. Of course it doesnt work upside down or 90degs out but small rotations its not bothered about.

I have been very reluctant to upgrade to Android until they sorted out the little issues that forced people to root and install custom ROMs. I rooted my touchpad because it gave so much more, but i think ICS may be the version that people dont root, at least until CM come up with something very special

Will SG2 get ICS? and if so when will that be do you reckon?

Yes due to the Android upgrade program (all new devices will get software upgrades for atleast 18 months provided the hardware is capable), I believe the word going around for official ICS for SGS2 is Q2 2012.

It will be far earlier than that in ROM form, likely before christmas.
