Hi all, Could you give me your opinions on which card would be best for gaming (BF3 mainly!), Ones faster, one has more RAM, which would be more beneficial?

It depends on the resolution.

In BF3 MP on a big map Ultra settings @ 1080p only use very slightly over 1GB and much less than either 570 has.

At 1080p you don't need the extra RAM. If your running multi-screen or high res then the extra RAM will help.
 
Niether of those two cards.

If you search you can find a 1280MB Gigabyte GTX 570 Super Overclock, running:

3800MHz GDDR5
GPU 845MHz
Shader 1690MHz

Much cheaper than either EVGA card.
 
Thanks guys - I was hoping to keep the card for a few years, I guess the extra ram will 'future proof' more?

My screen is 1920 x 1200 (24" Dell), Does that mean more ram? :)
 
Go with the EVGA, longer warranty and fantastic CS should anything ever go wrong.

GPUs are sensitive bits of kit, don't wanna be waiting for weeks for an RMA to be fulfilled.

The Gigabyte is 36 months so isn't that the same as the EVGA? They also have a UK rma centre.

If you're happy with the EVGA then that's cool, the prices I looked at had them costing £40+ more.

I would go for more memory, but then I am biased :D

I was comparing it to the OcUK prices for the models quoted above. The Classified is £337. The cheapest I have seen this for is £328. The Gigabyte was under £290.
 
I've seen the Classifed for £295 and the HD for £299.

The Classified is faster but the HD as twice the ram for less than £5....
 
You might be able to reach the Superclocked speed (797Mhz) as it uses the same cooling.

The classified runs what appears to be the reference cooler, but I have no idea what temps that runs at.

If you have good air flow in your case you could try it.
