Im worried this beta is going to spoil the enjoyment of the release of the game for me
That's why I'm going to play a class I'm not that fussed about come Friday afternoon, or at least won't play first. I was part of a 2-day test last year, played as a BH and loved it, but when the game releases I will prob not go for BH straightaway.
That being said, it'd only be the first 10 levels I'd have to repeat so not exactly soul-destroying, especially as it was great fun

Facepalm. The point of the beta is to test the servers, not us testing the game... They have spent months/years testing to remove as many bugs as possible, now they need to test the servers to see if they are ready for launch.
Personally I don't expect to get on to the game 'til late Friday night if not Saturday as the servers constantly crash.
I find your lack of faith disturbing

Huh? What you honestly think the whole think will go off without a hitch, none of the servers will go down and it will be completely lag free? There will be lag, there will be crashes and if you believe otherwise then you will almost certainly be left disappointed tomorrow.
I know it's not on the same scale - but then again I don't know how many additional servers they'll run - but depsite 26 chocka-block servers in the last weekend it was suprisingly stable - even on a US server my ping was fine there was no crashes at all - the only bad thing was some of the wait times to get on!!
Like i say, I know this weekend will be busier but not sure how many servers they are going to run - rather it does crash this weekend and not launch weekend mind!
Facepalm. The point of the beta is for me to have a go and see whether to keep my preorder
Harsh but fair You're right though, the lag & server load should be nasty enough to mess up normal play for a while at least.

Anyone still having problems with the security questions? Still getting the same question I don't have an answer for. Starting to worry as the beta is starting tomorrow
Edit: Nevermind I got in thankfully, it seems I did know the answer just it wouldn't except it yesterday.
Also just opened up the client and needed to update so it might be worth doing now rather than at 4pm tomorrow, especially if you're connection is slow.

ha after reading all your posts i thought i better check my emails low and behold in the spam box was an invite for saturday mornig
only problem is that i got rid of my gaming rig 5 months ago
and the only computer i have is a small net book with a amd E450 cpu so i dont think i will be using my beta.....

Ah good good, still undecided on BH or SI, both look awesome, but at same time a IA with Sniper AC sounds really cool
Anyone playing this who has previously been burnt out by MMO's?
I still dip in to LOTRO as its Tolkien but WoW pretty much killed my enthusiasm for the genre after many years of playing them.
Apart from the fact that it's Star Wars (which could be a good enough reason anyway) is there anything fresh in it?

Lightsabers, Bounty Hunters, all voice acted, and what looks to be a really awesome story?
Still working out which class to play, i wanna take people down with lightsaber and use the force so im thinking sith warrior maybe, also on the progress trailers when you pick an advanced class do you have to use that armor?
