I had a harder time with the Agent, weirdly. When I played Smuggler (to see if I preferred Empire or Republic), I just breezed through the entire first planet.

I'll still be getting this. I liked WoW, but I don't like the swords and spells style fantasy settings in these games, and this solves that problem.

I had my heart set on a Bounty Hunter before I played the game, but now, I can't tear myself away from the cover classes. I'll be rolling Imperial Agent come release. They sound so cool :D

Anyone else plan to play a certain class, and completely changed their mind after playing the beta?

I did exactly the opposite as you. I planned to start out as the Imperial agent on release however after playing the Smuggler I noticed the cover system wasn't for me. I tried out the Trooper, loved it and am now going to play the Bounty Hunter on release.

I don't see what people are complaining in terms of the graphics if I'm honest. Yes okay at times it doesn't look brilliant but I have it on low and it is still better than the graphics from most MMOs(Wow, WAR etc.)

The textures might not be the greatest ever but in terms of lighting, atmosphere & art direction I think it looks very nice, especially with AA forced.
 
Funny thing is is that there is no mmo with good graphics so I struggle to understand people using it as a stick to bash the game with. But as others said, stick everything on top settings and the graphics are better than any other mmo out there.

Story, quests, combat are (IMO) better than other mmo offerings at the moment and they are what matter.

I was hyper critical of this game in the earlier stages and was accused of "trolling" this thread as I was quite vocal in my opinions. However the game has offered more than enough to change my mind and with some fine tuning and additions in patches it could be brilliant.




Plus I want to play a game where I can have a purple lightsaber :D
 
lvl 13 Imperial Agent and have to say for my 1st MMO i am enjoying it. Hutta could have been better and it did feel tedious in places but now that i am out of there and have picked Sniper as my class it's getting a lot better. The Imperial Agent homeworld looks sweet (forgot the name of it, Dar something i think) but going to be a helluva lot of walking about.

Very confused on the GFX problem of the game people must have some bag o $hit rigs. With everything on max and no folders moded the GFX are decent to good hardly cutting edge but as said they need to cover the middle to high end rigs or they will force themselfs out of a merket just doing very high end cards. Saying there from 10 years proves you are blind or own a poor set up or lying about your sig rig lol

On another note whats the PVE options as you get higher, can say like Wow stay in instance all day if you choose or do you get locked out every so often once complete. Do they cover all levels eg 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 etc?

took a lot of effort to get screenshots making the game like fairly good
interesting bug just now
i had sent one of my companions off doing crafting before starting a space mission and he came back to me in space :D

btw ignore audio i had iplayer on in the background

When you turn everything up to full (bearing in mind we can't actually use AA yet) in a decent res it looks really good. Definitely better than WoW.

No, but the game could at least look better than other MMOs, you know, which are 7 years old.

This game looks even worse then the original Kotors which were released at the start of the decade :confused:


Not to mention, people are glorifying the voice/acting a bit too much ,it's not like it has never been done before, it's in pretty much every single Western RPG and I can see it getting boring pretty soon, I'm sure after the 25th time of some NPC telling you to go kill those "beasts" or rescue those "apprentices" you will get bored of it pretty fast.

There is nothing new or innovative about this game, it's been done before, let's face it and let's be honest, it's just another generic MMO just like WoW, Rift, Warhammer,etc but with a Star Wars theme, is that enough to guarantee it's success?

The game play feels sloppy/sluggish as well, although I understand it's just a beta but I seriously hope they make an improvement before the final version, the combat just isn't flowing for me and it's quite boring and repetitive, also, lack of an auto attack? The targeting system is terrible as well, there are way too many flaws with it right now.

That is my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs but I for one will not be purchasing this game.
 
Well at first I was like mmm ok its not bad I quite like it but nothing amazing. Although the voice acting is really good, I'm guessing a HUGE amount of time went into recording all the diologue that is in the game.

Then I did the first flashpoint Black Talon........ now I'm hooked ! the FP is amazing and if you go with different people the story can always play out differently. The FP or "dungeons" if you will are amazing and a completely different take on the standard oooo look lots of baddys just kill them all for no apprent reason. The is a story to the FP and you and your group are completely involved in how some of it all plays out.

The Warzones are great soooo much fun and as mentioned imo more team based than people running around getting killing blows or HK farming...

The game really does start to open up a lot more once you get to the fleet (on sith not sure what it is for Jedi) and get to level 10 to start customising your char more.

I'm not going to be playing much more as I dont want to spoil to much of the game. But I've seen enough to know I will be enjoying this on live.
 
Im playing as a Bounty Hunter now,ive played Smuggler and Sith Inquisitor,but only for a few levels just to get to know each class.

The Bounty Hunter compared to the Smuggler and Sith Inquisitor has the best storyline up to know,really enjoying playing.

Im impressed with the whole game so far.
 
Worse art than Kotor!!! Some serious trolling going on here. So many different art techniques used for example normal maps, lighting, textures sizes, particle systems, bloom, poly budgets, animation rigs, deformation, fogging, multi texture blending, advanced shaders.

And in end the actual texture painting/production is pretty damn good for such a large game. Texture uv's are also very well done compared to WoW which has some of the worst seams I have seen.
 
Im either happy to please or realistic but i see nothing wrong with the graphics on tython and korriban they looks brilliant some very nice scenery. Theres the odd texture that looks average but it doesnt spoil it for me.

Ive played as much of the beta as i wanted to without spoiling too much. I never reached the first flashpoint but i done that in an early beta so i can imagine it should have improved a bit like it wasnt already awesome:)

Ill be keeping my CE preorder and cant wait to start cutting down jedi.
