Hey

There was an interesting article last week about autism etc regarding that it is more likely to affect scientist, and other people. One of those people being those that do IT.

I have Dyspraxia, and I may have Autism as well.

Just wondered if there were any other people on here that had similar conditions...

Cheers

I have an abnormal and irrational fear of giants. My Psychiatrist says I suffer from feefiphobia.

I think it's more likely that people with those conditions will be interested in IT and such due to its very nature (no need to talk to anyone else :p).

I've always wondered if I had anything like this, I don't do well with people and get all nervous when in groups... I'm quite ltierally only comfortable when im at my computer in my big comfy chair :o

Well the Dyspaxia is something that I was diagnosed when I was a kid, and a few decades later, I'm finally looking for help for it. Think it might have affected my career in IT.

Not the Technical side, but the soft skills...

Also tbh this is kinda of meant as a serious thread, not a jokey one about giants...

well what is a serious business is having a disability.

I know people whose kids have to go several miles to a different school by taxis since there local school can not handle them.

Also being told that your disability is so bad that your never going to work, not really a joking matter tbh...Well if you think it funny continue with the funny posts..

Apologies......GD is a pretty irreverent place.....no offense is meant, most of the time.

A few years ago I was given a provisional diagnosis of aspergers, it explains a lot about who I am and why I react to situations the way that I do, but at the same time, there's not a great deal that I can do about it, so I try not to let it bother me.
