What you're saying is you think it's wrong for people to move from other countries into your country, and yet you're planning on becoming a foreigner in another country?

It is odd really. The whole situation. There is clearly some underlying racism in Britain. As I've been aware of the media much more in the last 5-10 years or so (this comes with growing up I feel), I have seen an increase in racism issues. Oddly, it doesn't surprise me. Whilst free movement is supposed to be allowed between all EU countries (so yes, I'm talking predominantly about the Polish here), only the UK, Ireland and Sweden (I think it's Sweden) have completely opened up their borders to workers. Furthermore the largest number of migrant movement (by numbers), I am also pretty sure is from Poland to the UK (again within the EU).
Saying that, is it a bad thing? Not particularly, it may cause issues in the future, but it may not. Is it really effecting 'British' employment prospects. Well frankly, yes, there is more competition. But realistically, if the British public that are predominantly completely racist actually got off their butts, and dole money they'd probably be able to get jobs, and the Polish migrants wouldn't come to the country because their wouldn't be any jobs available. Think about it logically. You're not going to completely up sticks and move to another country with a reasonable language barrier, for no prospects of jobs. What's more their education level is lower on average then ours. We as a nation should be more competitive in the labour market if the idiots actually got off their butts and tried to get a job.
Also as a side point:
I'm guessing you're not saying that all white kids will achieve nothing in their lives, and be dole scrounging bigots. Because if you're stereotyping all white kids. Frankly you're just as bad.
I must point out that I believe I'm hopefully misinterpreting your statement...

I'm not arguing as to the reason; there's nothing wrong with that reason. I'm annoyed at the fact that they don't tell you that point blank. Why not say that 'if you pay for education, you can come'? The reason they gave me is what is ridiculous.
In any case, the point of that was it is NOT the case that they let anyone in, which is what you were saying. Clearly, they do not just let anyone in.

It did cross my mind earlier when someone, cheets I think, posted an article moaning about net immigration being up to suggest that he depart for fairer climes in a bid to even things up...

There are scum of every single colour. As a man of science, from the evidence that I have gathered, I can very safely conclude that the amount of melanin your body produces has NOTHING to do with how you act as a person or your personality.

No, at no point did I say anything of the sort, you're simply taking the little text I did type and making assumptions to suit your argument. You don't know enough about my opinions to say one way or the other. I agree that cultural and religious factors can indeed be an influence on how people react towards others, but we ourselves as British people are not exempt; there is a lot of evidence of that in this thread from a select few posters and some part of that may be influenced by such. To simply state that in a way that attacks other cultures whilst ignoring your own is silly, really.
There are good and bad people from all kinds of countries, cultures, religions and upbringings. Some will be spongers, criminals and generally unpleasant people, but many more will be honest, hard-working people. I don't deny there is an issue, but the attitudes of some are wholly inappropriate.

Not really, seeing as Australian or Canadian culture is almost identical to that of the UK.
I think most people that have a problem with huge amounts of immigration don't have a problem with the color of peoples skin.

The reason I ask is because there are a few people on this forum (eg cheets), who complain that immigrants are a threat to British culture.
I then ask them what British culture is, and how immigration has resulted in a decrease of this culture. I'm simply interested to know. But alas, I simply cannot get a straight answer. The closest thing to a proper answer I got, was cheets saying that for him British culture was eating curry and watching football. WTF?! He can still watch football and eat curry, it has nothing to do with immigration! If anything, due to other people coming here and opening new restuarants, he has access to a greater variety of curries. In this sense, immigration has complemented and enriched this country.
I'm not trying to be difficult with that question, I simply want a straight answer.

English culture not British mate. I am English first British second.
Erm about the same culture I have lived, my parents and grand parents, you know the way of life, food, past times, the same your family probably still practice when they moved from Asia.
Culture slowly changes over centuries, I still go drinking in a pub that was a water hole for people in the 1800s, doing the exact same thing they did, drink, have a good time with family and friends. You cant just dump, different cultures and religions in a small country and expect everyone to live happily ever after.

It definitely is, but surely you can accept that some people have quite different cultures compared to what most of this country would consider to be right. A lot of gun culture for example comes from immigration where that kind of thing is more acceptable in the country where they came from.
Don't get me wrong, the UK has it's fair share of own problems too.
