Sometimes I'm ashamed to be British...

You have of late acted as the moral arbitrator for OcUK during these sorts of discussions I notice, any reason why?

I like to see people like yourself and Castiel give well thought out reasoned debate to hopefully plant a seed into such people but it doesn't help when others resort to name calling.
This thread will be locked and deleted and the racists will have won again.

Doesn't DD just defeat himself from the off?

Yes but we need people like you to give reasoned debate.
I'm not clever enough to quote numbers & figures.

Erm we let anybody in and I mean anybody, we should only be letting in highly skilled workers that are coming here to help the economy, not work live 10 to a house, send money out of the UK economy, have zero desire to integrate.

Keep on pushing the liberal ideology.
You have no idea at all how difficult it is for most people to emigrate to the Uk. An Australian friend of mine gave up after 2 years of trying!

I'm sorry this is probably one of the funnies posts I've read on here today. Thanks mate :D

What you're saying is you think it's wrong for people to move from other countries into your country, and yet you're planning on becoming a foreigner in another country?

Hypocrit or what?

Yeah but I don't wear a ninja outfit.

To be honest with you I would take most immigrants over this woman every day of the week.

Can't we send her somewhere? 100 years ago we would have been able to at least send her to Australia. So much for progress. :)

Yeah but I don't wear a ninja outfit.

Neither does ANY immigrant who has ever come to this country from anywhere in the world.

However, if you're referring to the headscarf that a few Muslim women wear, then let me say again that this will be a very very very small % of immigrants that wear this. Also I don't see how that makes it okay for you to be a hypocrit?

I don't want to debate with you if you're going to be an absolute dick. Either make proper debate by intelligent logic, and have me reply to you. Or continue to say rude and offensive things and have me ignore you.

Asking bigots to debate with intelligent logic? Good luck.

TalkIng about the headscarf for Muslim women?

What does that have to do with anything?

I don't agree at all with him but it is annoying. I just don't agree with most of the Islamic religions frankly, dare I say it *silly* traditions such as that. Can't a religion advance so that women don't have to cover their entire bodies and they cannot be identified by sight, surely it's effectively stripping them of their identities?

It's not relevant to this discussion. He's using it to justify being a hypocrit.

What the centurion said, but in response to your points:

It's their chice what to wear but I agree, it is stupid. If they want to wear headscarfs try should be able to. Just like the pope and his stupid hats.

And you think moving to Australia would solve your irrational fears about immigrants......

You do realise that as well as being an immigrant yourself (and subject to the same kind of irrational intolerance), Australia also has significant issues with immigration from South Asia and in some places you really would be in the minority...

And Canada is a far more multicultural place than the UK, again it has a large immigration population, especially from Asia, although Canadians can be far more tolerant of immigrants (including British) than Australians can be.

I find it quite amusing that you wish to move from Britain because of multiculturalism, yet are intending to move to one of two countries that are far more multicultural than the country you are leaving.

It's because he, like most people who have his viewpoint, is misinformed and ignorant. Probably not his fault, but he needs to be educated and see the error of his ways, such that he realises that there is nothing threatening about immigrants, and that the woman in the video is a nutter :)

EDIT: You're describing it as 'immigration issues', I don't believe it to be so.

I can't speak for cananda, but what I saw of Australia seemed to have all the problems Britain had 5-10 years ago. So I guess people will perceive it to have less of an immigrant problem

The Niqab and it's related garments are not a requirement of Islam, they are cultural affectation, most often seen in Afghanistan and rural areas in Pakistan and India. The tradition is largely independent of religion except in some fundamentalist (and relatively modern) interpretations such as those held by the Taliban and Pashtun rural tribes.

Somebody put a good point on Facebook earlier. Yes she is racist and it's disgusting but does that mean she should have people hunting her down and her child taken into care? Hell, my folks are a bit racist just due to the way they've been brought up and the age of them. Not intentional at all they do not discriminate at all I wouldn't say, perhaps some more distant family members but not my parents. They just don't know how to be.. politically correct with the mannerisms used to describe people who aren't white English. Political correctness is lolworthy at best anyway. Even with a racist mother the kid would, I highly doubt would be much of a racist when older, the mother could perhaps rub off a bit onto them I guess. I'll admit back in my younger years (10 or so) I definitely used to have prejudice against people who weren't from round my area but education has taught me and now I definitely have changed viewpoints.

Just my 2c.

Like I've said many times in this thread. She is a criminal, she is a abusing other passengers on the train, and it has been pointed out that she may well have been drunk.

So on those grounds, possibly her child should be taken away, not necessarily on the grounds of what she thinks :)

It is something promulgated by the Wahhabis as well. That movement originates in Saudi Arabia and with their oil money they are the ones funding a lot of the growth of Islam recently in the west.
