Hi there all,ok i have used MSI gtx 580 Lightning xtreme 3gb,but just for 1 day and sold it out (coz there is not that kind of cards on market in my country) SO...next dilemma coming...

I got 640 euros,so what You suggest me to buy (got in mind to i have money to buy one card atm and will buy other one same for sli in 4-5month,and want to play safe on ultra for next like 4 years or atleast 5 on 1080p -1200p max if get monitor later, and also to FRAPS something etc)

1.GTX 590 (i though on Gigabyte N590D5-3GD-B coz of that nice mouse in pack xD) -but there are also available MSI and maybe Asus (not sure yet) and Gainward

2. AMD 6990
Recommend some manufacturer ...

3.Or it still better to buy gtx 580 Lightning xtreme 3GB

-Money is not problem (since there is about 50 euros difference, and 2nd card will be bought at 4-5 months so no big deal)

-I don't want to w8 for new series of Ivy Bridge,6xx or 7xxx coz of some reasons (buying new components,or at least some of them every 4-5 years but best products at that time, and i'm calm for next 4-5 years etc. and also avoiding stress with new drivers for new versions, every 1-2 months some upgraded version products comes out etc. so on this way i avoid all of that, and buy best components when market calm down, and also price normalize)

So i would like to know which one, straight,i know to all of them have pros and cons ,but what is your suggestion when u compare temperature, features between AMD and Nvidia, performance,OC abilities when You calculate all of that, what would You pick up.

WHAT I DON'T WANT TO YOU CONCERN IS NOISE LVL (seems to a lot ppl are worried about this part but i don't give a shi* for that till it pulls everything)

My Configuration is next:

-i7-2600k (didn't get to OC it coz i sold that card and PC is off atm)
-Noctua NH-d14
-Maximus IV extreme-z
-Crucial M4 128GB SSD
-Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD
-1200W PSU Cooler Master Gold 80 (there wasn't place to buy Corsair or Seasonic here, anyway 5 years warranty so nvm ;) )

1. Definitely not a 590 as 1.5GB maximum vram limit is not gonna last 4-5 years
2. Not a bad choice to have one 6990 but I have not heard good things about quadfire (microstuttering) also be prepared to wait a long time sometimes for AMD to release CF updates for new games
3. If money was no object this would be my choice as you can SLI it and get great performance and maybe even in a few years tri sli it, also 3GB usable vram should last a long time and it's known to be a good at overclocking and cooling

Yeah for me the lightning xtreme is the best single GPU card out there but it comes at a hefty price.

I would just get a 580 1.5Gb or even a 570 for now and then in a year or two buy one of the 28nm cards. You will save money and get better performance in the long run. I reckon even the 580 will be struggling badly in 4 or 5 years time.
