strange it was all live last night, and MRK, i use nod32 but MSE is good for my TV box and the mrs laptop, and anyones computer i fix :D
 
I wonder if they have improved the scan speed, MSE scans were always so slow, my Avast install finishes a quick scan in 10 seconds and a full scan in under 5 minutes.
 
A quick scan in 10 seconds? WTf is it scanning (or what isn't it, that should be :p).

An MSE full scan on my SSD takes 20~ minutes. A quick scan takes a few minutes. I have never timed it exactly because resources are plentiful so I do other things like watch a movie or play a game.
 
Avast can and does skip a ton of files because there's no point in scanning them, such as files with valid digital signatures from the likes of Microsoft etc, if those files were infected and thus altered then the signature wouldn't be valid any more and would have course then be scanned.

maybe you have to register with the connect site for beta downloads. i might have done this years ago - i can't really remember. :p
 
Ah no, it's only available to select users at the moment. Like Google's segmented Gmail updates, some people get it later than others.
