I got A LOT more attention from girls when I changed my profile to a simple list of things I like, they were all true, although some may have been seen as odd and a little random. It was a long list and that's all my profile was.

I always got told I made girls laugh with it, that it was the best one they'd seen, etc etc.

Seriously, give it a go, get drunk and write a stupid list of stuff you like.

I must have messaged about 6 girls now and no one has replied! Gah! I know they've read my message as straight after they have viewed my profile.

I think internet dating is'nt for everyone and people will sometimes be better off meeting someone with similar interests like going to a Karate class or something like that. Maybe even possible on a night out??
From what I have found out, girls are certainly very picky on dating sites. I can't really blame them though as there certainly are a lot of creeps out there. Whenever I have met a girl off the net in the past, she always said how nice it was to talk to someone that was not after a 1 nighter or other weird stuff :eek:

I stopped doing internet dating as I just found it is'nt really right for me and does not work like it used to. Going a few years back, I used to get a lot of girls message me and I was very surprised. Also used to get a fair few older women get in touch, but it never went anywhere other than flirty chat.
I guess getting older and uglier has not helped much :p

The advice was asked for and it's about his advert, not his post. It's not as if I'm being a pendant like you and offering unsolicited advice just to make yourself look like the only one on Earth who knows that a sentence starts with a capital and ends with a full stop.

Typing on a tablet isn't as easy as it is on a keyboard, nor am I going to correct errors when I'm late heading out the door.

If you look at all my other posts I'm hardly the sort of noob who needs help in communicating in English.

Maybe instead of being a heroic grammar Nazi just to impress your Mum, you could have offered an opinion on his advert? I'm not trying to make him feel bad, I'm trying to help him because I know what it's like to sit there and have nobody reply.

To add a bit to my original post, Kimi, you look much better with a beard and no glasses, but with glasses you'd be better off shaving. The geeky look doesn't work with the unshaven look.

Its a numbers game. The amount of guys on these sites outnumber the girls significantly, so the girls can pick and choose as they please.
 
women mostly will look at pics, look at your height and your job. then if that's ok then they will read your description and consider messaging back.

No winter sports photos - this is a running joke with most women

just clear photos of your face and fashion sense that's all they want to see. they don't want to see you trashed with a beer in your hand, driving a go kart or frolicking in the snow.

Yeah the language isn't really the problem for me, in fact I think that might help in some way. Because the language isn't my native one I don't have such an emotional link to the words I am saying so wouldn't get shy saying things like I would in English (If that makes any sense). Doesn't mean I don't mean the words that I say, but if I said something lovey or nice in English I'd just go into super shy mode. I'm already finding I can say more intimate things in Korean confidently than in English.
I also watch a load of Korean TV to understand the culture, not just because it's interesting but to help for when I get there and I don't just walk into someones house with my shoes on or not say the proper honorifics to people.
There is a reality TV show with celebrities fake marrying each other, I seem to get most ideas from that on what Korean girls generally find most appealing.
