7 series GPU water blocks

Will be obvious for most i am sure or even an unanswerable question, but when the 7970's, etc are released are they going to use a different style of water block or would they share an existing one???? :confused:

If there will be new ones to go with them, do they usually bring them out fairly quickly?

Any info is much appreciated.

Blocks are usually different and are announced within a few weeks

just get a universal block and some quality copper ram/vrm heatsinks

I'm sure it would be cheaper, but universal is not going to anywhere near as efficient is it? Will have to wait and see i think. Just impatient.

it's exactly as efficient.

VRM's get a bit hotter. that's all

Infact, not too sure about the bi in bold

This, VRM's are capable of running hot anyways, just make sure you have decent airflow, but in the long run a GPU only block can save you quite a lot of money.

That is surprising, so the advantages of the latest water blocks they bring out is more aesthetics than anything?

If you're going to be crossfiring/SLI blocks check out the EK series of GPU blocks, they're pretty sweet.

May consider it in the future if the power consumption is anything like they predict as it saves upgrading the PSU. Will check it out. Thanks. Also why those over t'others?

Yeah it's the bridge edition, makes it less awkward in a dual card setup.

So in a nutshell, unless you are planning to throw away your old gpu. Your going to spend money buy a cooler for it again. You dont safe much using a universal cooler.

EK are very good and usually quick in releasing a new mounting kits if that changed. A new mounting kit costs roughly 10 euros ^_^
