Its time for the BBC to sack Clarkson?

I don't get why you think racism is on a par with disliking public sector workers. In fact that in itself is offensive as it belittles the plight of minorities to that of a petty squabble. Therefore you should be fired from OcUK.

Why would anyone want to have a nurse shot in front of her kids?

You call stating this "dislike"?

laughable.

ad if they sack him he will up sticks with his show(topgear iirc is his rather than the bbcs) and move to itv along with all the revenue it brings in,

the bbc cant afford to sack him and i guess he knows that

I don't think it was shocking..

It was offensive

I'm not questioning your being offended or your right to be offended, but to me the question is of which is the greater right and freedom?

His right to voice his opinion against your right to be offended? If it comes to that I'll support his right to free speech (even though we have no such legally regarded right in this country).

I detest the idea of having free speech only for the opinions or values one agrees with. That isn't free speech. Free speech is the right of someone to say something I disagree with.

You'll find there will be people who take offense at most everything.

I'm not agreeing with Clarkson, he's an odious man who has made his fortune precisely by being oh so contraversial.

But his right to express his views, in my opinion, shouldn't be taken away because some people might be offended. Just like the Stephen Fry quote up above says...'so what?'.

I don't really agree with the strikes full stop...

Therefore I don't have too many issues with what he said. It is a bit extreme, but that's hardly surprising...

He's a bit of an idiot. I still enjoy watching him on TG though.

As this thread shows he also hugely divides opinions...

Also, sacking him would basically mean the complete destruction of TG. He apparently writes a fairly large amount of it - gathering from the Ben Collins book...

You do realise it's a joke right?
He doesn't actually want to have people shot, but he feels strongly they are in the wrong.

I do as well in fact, they keep on yammering on about their pensions and not earning as much as "the public sector" .. well f'off, so many of us "private sector" workers don't even get a pansion, nevermind a final salary pension.

anyone thinking that the unions are jumping on this because Cameron and Clarkson are buddies?

And Livingstone saying to Peter Graham 'if there was “any justice,” he and all his 30 Tory colleagues would “burn in hell and your flesh will be flayed [by] demons for all eternity' is different how?

indeed,

people are jumping on this to further their own agendas.

silly throwaway comment from someone who made a bad joke trying to balance out what he was saying.

Totally. I just watched it. I mean people in the audience laugh out loud when he makes the comments or members of the show/team anyway, not sure if there is a "public" audience. Whatever, the point is it was really clarkson's style to make the comments in the way he did. Does anyone actually think he meant what he said? I mean seriously? Have a word with yourself you complete morons.
