CS:GO Beta Starting Today

this is THE GREATEST game ever made..EVER.

CS:GO or CSS in general? If in general I agree, I've had CSS for only 2 years and I can't remember a game that I've played so much on a regular basis and clocked so much hours on, I wish I knew of this game before!

I just hope they open the beta sooner than later, really want to try this!

Apparently there are a few obvious bugs/exploits:

1) If you run forward alongside a wall and hold a strafe key into the wall you gain a lot of speed.

2) Whilst running forward in general you can quickly tap left and right which also accelerates you.

I don't have the game but this it what I've been told by a guy from work who has it.

I assume he has filed a bug report and sent it to Valve, considering this is a BETA.

This has always been the case with valve / source games... happened in Half-life / tfc / cs....

Dont refer to "CSS" as the "general" - it's CS

/me spits on source

I played CS a little before v1.0 and then a lot more as they patched it all the way up to 1.6

People biatched about the new models and they biatched when the scope was removed from the m4 and whatever else. People just like to whine >.<

CS was good when it was current, CSS was just as good as 1.6 imo. No it wasn't the same but I never expected a carbon copy. a lot of the things that people rate as being awesome like certain spray patterns and 'wallbanging' (shooting through several feet of solid rock to kill people) were never intended to be features >.<

People should just play the game and accept it for what it is... Adapt and overcome and all that

I'll miss the Scout but the molotovs sound fun (as does the tazer) and it'll be fun playing console guys :D

so whats that suppose to mean they cant add maps because its a beta...

surely a beta is more likely to get maps added than a demo is?

A beta is to test the physics, the engine, the server loads, the code, etc etc etc.

Maps can be easily tested in house. After all, they don't beta test every new map released in a game do they?

Unless the map is for a completely different game type, I doubt very much they would release any more.

they already siad they are releasing dust and dust 2 but theres only one on it atm..

sorry i aren't a cs player so i dont know what one it is...

I thought a major part was to test to maps in the beta because I doubt Valve's in-house testers will be able to find all potential bugs/exploits in each map. That was what I thought anyway...
