Its time for the BBC to sack Clarkson?

People really are wasting their time arguing with you, you don't listen or address any points people make and just state things (that are often wrong) as fact.

You obviously hate to be wrong but in nearly every instance I've seen you posting, you have been. :(

Don't get upset....Your frustration lies with you not being able to form an argument mate.

Your post's are constructed analysis of me...rather than points to make meaning against what I state.

I Understand...But this does make him infallible does it?

Infallibility?? I didn't call him a saint. I said he was a legend.

All I'm saying is JC is the face of Top Gear, and Top Gear is the biggest internationally recognised brand owned by the BBC.

You can't just sack someone like JC and not have potentially disastrous consequences. This isn't just a "job".

I've already put your argument to bed, now I'm just baffled by how incredibly obdurate you are being.

This is boring.

20,000 complainers ( The type of people have nothing else better to do with their time other than to write letters expressing how offended they are )

I would say the other 58.98million of the population couldn't give two ****s and do other productive things rather than write in to say they couldn't give two ****s.

The sad part is that 24 hour news stations lap up these 20,000 complaints and spin it as though the whole population agrees.

Easyrider drop the public transport, learn how to drive and join in the fun like the rest of us.

To me it seemed people took it out of context and didn't really understand that what be said was more a dig at the BBC policy of having to be equal. He initially stated that he liked the strikers because the roads were clear and he could zoom about. He the stopped and said that as it was the bbc they had to represent both sides (ie like them / dislike them). As his reason for liking them was stupid he then went polar opposite and claimed they should be shot.

You (OP) are worse than so many of the others because you actually posted the quote out of context, which is a shame as in context it makes far more sense.

Very much agree, and very surprised at the reaction of people! Obvious joke just not obvious enough for some people, especially when quoted as OP and with such glee the media have jumped on sensationalising it, crazy times (and people).

Because the majority who have complained didn't see the show or they watched the 15 second clip on You Tube that only showed from the executing bit.
Mrs Dimple (UNISON member) said that one of her workmates had emailed a complaint and admitted she hadn't watched it.
To be honest Mrs Dimple was moaning about it when it first happened until I showed her the full clip.

Well it's not even on the front pages of BBC News website any longer even, so people are already forgetting about this.

Because gradually more and more people realised he was deliberately quoted out of context on the day that union strikes needed vital publicity after being described as a "damp squib".

Again you miss the point...

Only 4.4 million watch the one show so if you want to labour a point get the maths right noob!

Of the 21,000 complaints, only a small fraction would have watched the show. Majority of the complaints will be 'bandwagoners'.

I can't tell if you're trolling or actually dim-witted; i suspect the latter though!

I think it was something like 5000 complaints by the afternoon of the next day. After the actual show more people complained about a suicide joke he made than the shooting joke...

Don't dish it out if you can't take it! Clarkson sets out to poke and prod people by the personal nature of some of his comments. On several occasions I think he's went to far. If people he's offended complain and he gets the sack then he's only himself to blame.

Personally, I stopped watching Top Gear after the comment about lorry drivers and prostitutes - I think he should have been sacked then!

Why are you so concerned with what bothers other poeple?

From reading your posts you find it hard for people to have their own views and values?

Not at all, but this is a forum to discuss peoples views and opinions, is it not?

You treat it as a place to ignore peoples views and opinions and dictate to them.

There are rules in broadcasting that have to be followed. The rules were broken.

You don't think JC should be sacked...

I do. 7pm primetime viewing is not a place for remarks of this nature regardless of context.

Please give me a valid reason why you think its ok...?

And saying it was a joke is not valid....as people are not allowed to tell offensive jokes at this time on TV.

So a good solid reason please....thanks
