CS:GO Beta Starting Today

Is anyone so disappointed they not playing it and got CSG setup on a separate account they want to lend us ?


I remember in CSS beta the physics all worked properly so you could push tables, etc, none of this bouncy crap. Of course the game would also freeze and drop dead bodies from the sky but I wouldnt mind a go of a beta bugs or not
 
The fact they keep trying to remake the original is always going to annoy the die hard fans.

The least they could do is put the beta out with a fresh map. Remaking Dust (again) is always going to get the "its not as good as CS:S/1.6" arguments going.

Yeah I remember that too. It was a massive amount of work for the servers though, every tiny movement of every object on the map, including their orientation and angles had to be sent to everyone all the time and it was costing a monstrous amount of bandwidth. Eventually Valve settled on the bouncy physics which were much less laggy.

It was a really cool experiment for its time but literally too much for even today's hardware and networks.
 
I don't really care what they change, long as they support the finished product like they have with previous releases and don't go the route of ea/activision it'll be a moderate success imo
 
Whats the game like guys ? big fan of cs source and would like to try global offensive, when is the beta open to all ? is the feel of the game like source ? still the same fun gameplay ?

As for this beta, its nice but way too buggy to fully enjoy it. I get killed by invisible players and the hit detection sometimes i think is off.
 
Valve did not make counterstrike, your mate is a heretic :p and no I dont mean the game


Try a mod called insurgency if you havent heard of it as its good graphics plus gun running etc Not a fav of mine but looks good

sounds like CS :p People using the helicopter skin instead of a player, turns you invis. Used to be a lot more cheating then is now to be fair, css did make a lot of improvements but also altered the difficulty a lot towards very new players. If you cant get a HS with your first shot, you arent good but 1.6 was a bit more subtle then that
