Basically Aod was asking for advice on the motors section about his Dad's next car.
He had a sensible volvo and wanted something as reliable and with similar running costs.
The lols started when Aod suggested an Alfa 147.
Aod then tells us that his Dad has come across a 24 year old BMW, and his dad thinks it will be as reliable as his volvo.
He then goes to see the car and reports back with pictures and tells us that the asking price is £3.3k (similar ones only worth £1-1.5k)
Aod finds some signs of rust on the car but his Dad buys it.
Then it turns out that the MOT certificate was a bit dodgy saying that it had 45k miles but then a few years later it was a bit less.
1995 - 44,359M
1996 - 44,594M
1997 - 45,003M
1998 - 45,280M
1999 - 45,385M

2011 - 45,301M
It then had quite a few electrical problems, several trips to the dealer it looked like it was sorted.
But then it started to leak oil and the fuel tank was bodged with soap.

Mine is probably the revelation that came out in motors! A precious stone seller had an army of brown nosers on here and then it turned out he wasn't who he said he was.
Really? I thought he got banned for the 95464th time he had made an inappropriate thread or posted up a picture of his wife's boobs or something. Although, as you said the only reason he didn't get banned for his 95463 other inappropriate threads is because his "army of brown nosers" allowed him to stay.
Read: He was rich, he had nice cars = got away with anything.
I also remember on one of his final posts him going a bit mental and demanding money from people or else. Mods kept deleting his threads/posts too quickly so never really found out the ins and outs of it all. Anyone care to share?!
Are they gone, I must have missed that thread.

Definitely thread of the year for me. Sure there's been funnier threads here in GD (towels and pancakes lol) but nothing as inspirational as that thread.

Yeh, also was trying to invoice someone because he took a Porsche to have a healthcheck for someone and said "Don't worry about the money" at the time, then demanded it back (IIRC)
