You could only clone the one animal for now, the genetic stock would be so narrow that an attempts to create a male and female pair would result in a genetically unfit offspring.

Would be interesting to see one clone attempt though.....Would pave the way for the possible cloning of species if we can't save them through current conservation.

Oh I'm not so sure about that. Is there not some merit to working to undo some of the damage that we've done. Bring back the Dodo, Mammoth, Moa...
