Too early to have the tree up. I'll give it until the 20th

TellyTel · 10 Dec 2011 at 12:00

Thinking of getting a real tree this Christmas , with a root though, don't understand why they cut the roots off?

Suppose its so they have to throw them ,so they have to fork out on another tree next Christmas.

utajoker · 10 Dec 2011 at 12:12

Is it not because tree roots are pretty big and it would take up all your floor space?

A[L]C · 10 Dec 2011 at 12:14

And because it's a lot easier for them just to cut it than digging it up?

Cosimo · 10 Dec 2011 at 12:15

It's still in it's box.

Edrof · 10 Dec 2011 at 12:18

Imagine quite a nice tree. Imagine a box full of quite nice decorations. Now imagine all of those decorations on the tree, but concentrated into a 2ft-square area, the rest a forlorn and naked expanse of green plastic needles.

We let our 2-year-old do the decorating this year, you see. It was a mistake.
