Another tram experience... 96 year old WW2 veteran beat by a black man, gets no jail time

If I saw someone push an elderly person whatever the circumstances, then I would intercede.

So if youre on the back of the bus / tram, and the described event is occuring at the front of a busy bus / tram, you would see it with your super X ray vision, and rush to the rescue with your superhuman speed before the punch could be landed?

Go superman!

People trying to push past others happens all the time on buses / crowded places, I strongly doubt that you would have ever seen the punch coming.

Oh wait, yes you would, for you are superman!

 Is the personal attack really necessary? Like I said, If I saw something like this happen, then I would intercede, either before it escalated to violence if possible, or by calling the police and attempting to detain the offender if not...by the footage, no-one did anything, with the offender attacking the elderly man and then leaving when the tram arrived at the next stop sithout a single person on that Tram doing anything.........it took children to do something....children!!!

There were people right next to the victim and directly behind and to each side of the offender....

Grow up and make a sensible comment instead of personal attacks.

I didnt make any personal attacks. Superman would be a compliment.

I still dont believe you would have been able to do anything about it, you just like to think / pretend that you would have.

No, you made a sarcastic attack on me personally.

You do not have to believe anything....but as I have done exactly that in the past I know what exactly what I would in the future....

Don't judge everyone by your own inadequacies.

Read about it on another forum today. A forum which must remain nameless ;)

I dont think it matters where it came from.

Quite clear how shocking this country has become.

Black man attacks 96 year old White WW2 Veteran = Walks free
White woman voices opinions on a tram albeit using foul language = Spends Christmas on remand.

This country. RIP

Britain is a cesspit nowadays, where all the dregs of the world end up.

If only people had heeded Enoch Powell's warning.

He lost his sight in one eye, and is now in a nursing home due to deteriorating health since the attack, black white yellow etc, makes no difference, he should have received a custodial sentence.
And I agree with DD about Enoch Powell's warning.

I read elsewhere that the attacker tried to make out in court that the victim provoked and attacked him first. Until they played the CCTV footage.

Don't think he should have recieved jail time either, would turn him into a more developed criminal and also, I don't think severity of punishments should be judged on ages of the victim, unless it was someone under 16 that would be different. But awful what he did and I feel for the old man.

And this is were this country is wrong in so many ways, too many people scared (admittedly I would be too) too help the old guy or smack this guy back in case they get in trouble with the police for doing so!
