Trine 2 - Beautiful!

Bought it earlier

Its quite simply the most magnificent PC game released in a long time & along with Limbo is one of the best platform games ever made.

Graphics are incredible & very pretty so much character & detail in the backgrounds.

Music suits the game perfectly & sound effects are good.

Gameplay is excellent & it supports up to 4 player co-op I believe.

Devs have already confirmed this is not going to be part of the Steam sales & unlikely to be less than the current price for 6-12 months so not point waiting for Steam sales as this will not be in them.

The only negative I can say about this game is that its way too pretty & starts off that way & never ever fails to impress with constant eye candy

Its not 2D at all, its 3D on a fixed camera point. 2D is completely flat, this isn't!

Was loving this with my gf. Was trolling her by spawning boxes on top of her while she was trying to jump over pits and making her die.

Much lulz were had.

No doubt thats all you'll be getting too

Just finished the witches house, was halfway through the level before I realised the magic mirrors could be moved up and down not just left and right ><

The levels seem so much longer than the first one. Plus they balanced it all better this time. Before you could just max out number of shots on Zoya and spam the crap out of everything, now you get bonus' for doing a fully charged shot and only 1 attack. Not to mention they removed the Floating Platform so you can't trivialise everything. And of course the levels look incredible. The detail is just immense.

She found it funny I think, I kept dropping boxes on her while she was trying to jump on the bubbles to get up the platform on 1 of the first levels. Couldn't stop laughing at how frustrated she was getting

I'm stuck where you get to an area with water and a massive snail.. what do i exactly do here? I've tried deflecting the water but it does nothing, any help? there is a box there already too.

edit : nvm figured it out

Deflect water onto a flower/bulb thing, which grows into a flower, and the snail buggers off and noms that. I think.

On a side note, Monster Levitation is funny

Loved the first one and the second one is just as good. Graphics are beautiful, much better animation and detail than the first. Platform elements are fantastic, well thought out puzzles and challenges. Much more interaction available with the environment too.

This series is possibly the best 2 games I have player over the past 5 years. If big software houses put as much thought into their games as this then we would be in a golden age of gaming again.

Keep it simple, keep it clean and it's a winner, my only dissapointment will be waiting for the next one.

Thought it was only on PC, can't vouch for the control sytem using a pad but I could see it being annoying having to control zeno without a mouse and kb.

Works great with 360 pad on PC. Higher framerate and resolution on the PC.

Couple questions. Is this better with mouse/keyboard or 360 controller. Also, should I play the 1st Trine or jump straight in with this? it looks amazing!!

Not tried it with m/k but plays sublimely with the 360 pad

Ok, took the plunge and bought earlier on Steam. Played an hour and got to say I'm blown away! Reminds me of 3 Vikings or whatever it was called on the Amiga! lol
