He's asked for me to post this around, I think they were over the top but I'd like your opinions.

I am more concerned that you have an iphone.
I think it is a bit over the top though, especially on a night out with no children or old grannies. I don't really care if someone makes a slip of the tongue in a public area, obviously if it was repeatedly then it would be annoying but it's hardly causing much damage other than offending people.

My opinion is if it is done publically then the police have to act the same regardless of the colour of the person who made the remark. Two lads sat in their front room playing xbox, going "yo get outta my face ******" in jest, no worries, two lads out in public, dangerous ground.

I know that this word is sometimes used amongst friends but in the modern society we can't allow a situation to develop where language used in public is only offensive based on the colour of your skin - either it is acceptable or it isn't.

C'mon, the police ask for a bad reputation when they pull this crap. THey could have used discretion, told the guys off and went to policing the streets to prevent 'real' crime.

Without being able to watch the video..... Cant make any worth while comment really so will speculate.

If they were causing a public disturbance then arrest them to shut them up, OTT but ok.
If hes arrested just for calling his mate it and they overheard him and cuffed him for that, then waste of police time and it drives me nuts that they bother with this kind of crap.

I reckons its one of them, they noticed they are being recorded and went all Retard cop on them to show them who they think is boss ?

Well, it depends. The fact that 'they're both black', shouldn't matter. If a white man calls a black man a 'n', then it tends to be taken as a very offensive racial slur - even if it is just a joke. However, it is often seen as perfectly acceptable between two black people. I don't think there should be any difference in the treatment for saying the word, regardless of race....

Now, last year, my British friend was singing a song that had said word in it, and an American black flat mate, found it particularly offensive, and reported him to the 'resident tutor'. As it was a first offence, it wasn't seen as too serious, and he was just given a warning....

Personally, I think there's too much 'hate' still attached to the word. I think people should realise that it is partly history, and people don't mean it like that any more. But yeah, a bit harsh from a policeman to arrest him?

Yes. But treatment should be fair to everybody, but this is slightly extreme.
