I honestly have no idea what to get her, so far managed a bottle of teachers even though it'll probably take her a year to drink.

Obviously only a few of you know her, from that time she was doing that thing with the whatsit but what specifically did you buy your mum.. maybe it might inspire me!

Family tree maker 2012 and probably something else, seeing as I got her family tree maker 2011 last year. But I don't won't to ever try transferring a ~10year out of date software across to the new version again.

Good idea, think my gf is getting her some of those though. :(

How old is she?

53

Huh? Whos your mum? What was she doing with what? Pics?

;)

Shes massively into the family tree stuff, she uses one of the sites quite frequently.. *off to search this family tree maker thinger*

Does she like cooking, cake making, etc, any other interests.

What's your budget?

Probably around 100, could stretch it for her of course :>

The platinum edition ~£30 gives you six months free membership on ancestry.co.uk as well. That on its own iirc is worth about £60.

You got a winner of a wife there then Dimple! In my mums case it'd be Johnny Cash and at a push Status Quo haha! Shes not a massive music fan and doesnt even drive so no road music :(

I'm thinking something that has some more practical use, I just wish she read more as a kindle would be perfect but I think it'd goto waste so I was looking at something like that.

Confusing sentence Is confusing? What's this about? Come on you can't mention this and not expect people to ask :p

Bought my mum a Spa Day at Gleneagles Hotel. To be fair me and my siblings bought it jointly but it is something she will enjoy. She can choose when to go and what treatements she wants and she gets afternoon tea with friends to finish.

She went to a beauty spa day a few years ago while on holiday and loved it so this should be a winner :)

Have also got her a clandar with pictures of me and my siblings from various points last year. Few quid online and she will love it.

Last year I bought her a Cannon Selphy photo printer so she can easily print out any photos she likes from her frankly enormous collection.

I'm in the same boat, she is like the ninja of what to buy for at xmas, she wont say much and never goes shopping (does it online mostly for other people, she is lovely) doesnt bloomin help me though!!!
