I think the fastest I've been so far is 44mph. Love the thrill of speed lol.

Tonight was a go slow due to the ice though, had to help a guy up and get his bike going again due to him falling off in Glasgow green. Was sheet ice!

Pah.

Speed wobble at 59 I think it was for me.
I asked a while back how you prevented it.
Brace the frame with your knees was the reply.
Not been back down Cleeve Hill yet to test it and I won't be, in this weather.
My cycling mate says see you at the bottom on every hill. I just love speed and couldn't give two hoots about the risk of coming off. He's much more sensible (family and kids man) ;)

Edit* I lied, I found the post and it was only 49. something.

JonnyM have you seen the Moore Large Outeredge waterproof lycra overshoes? I was thinking of getting a pair and wondering if you've seen the quality?

For some reason I'm sure I remember seeing them. Not sure if it was in our other shop or in a magazine :o

Haven't used them though so can't comment. I use the altura airstream(now called the etape) which the outer edge one looks to be a copy of. Even the altura is a copy of the BBB heaby duty ones(used to be called humvees or something?)

only difference is that mine have the velcro over the zip.

I'm using outeredge bibshorts and a jersey and I can't complain at the quality really.

Get castelli dilluvios you know you want to :P

Thanks. I might just give them a go seeing as they're quite cheap. From the pics, it looks like they have a velcro bit at the top as well as the zip. Hmmm now I've just seen the Outeredge Windsters which are fleece lined, windrpoof and waterproof!!

Morning ladies! ;)

It's bloomin' freezing outside, so naturally I am off out on my bike to try the new goodies I've bought in the last few weeks. Pictures to follow!

P.S. The sun is out, hopefully the roads won't be too icy :(

Well I did pluck up the motivation to do the 60 mile ride. Didn't quite manage the 18mph average, but still pretty pleased with my pace.

Anybody want some one ride(less than 20 mins) castelli diluvio gloves in L/XL? My brother took my santini ones to work and never brought them back and I wasn't for cycling home in the cold tonight so took these.

That anti-cyclist thread in GD has really wound me up. I can't believe some of the attitudes posted in there, it's really indicative of the mentality we are up against every time we go out for a ride.

I'm ashamed to say I bit spectacularly against one poster. The guy thought it was completely acceptable to threaten a cyclist and kick his bike, in front of his kids, because the guy had told him off for stopping to close to the kerb.

Honestly, words fail me :(

I'm interested.
Need to replace my £5 lidl gloves sometime soon :D
Email in trust.

Well I'd be looking for £24 + Postage as that pretty much covers me ;)

Terrible pic of the 'Saturday boys' bike. Ultegra gearing, 105 stis,105 brakes, 105 hubs on DT swiss rims. Deda bar, stem, bar tape and ritchey V2 seatpost.

Shame it's nicer than mine :(

Re. the GD thread, I'm done there. I see it first hand what cars do to cyclist. Having Bud Johnson coming in the shop in a neck brace as he was knocked off by a 90 year old and broke his neck etc. A guy got half his ear ripped off getting ran down on a slip road(think he got knocked down again lol). Other guy was off the bike for 4 months due to an arm break......and the most recent is a nice big chap getting hit by a car from behind on a NSL road. He had just bought brand new RS20 wheels aswell :(

Didn't he say the cyclist kicked his car though? But yes it's a bit unnerving!

Really disappointed in myself, having not done anything other than my commute, weekly cx training, and the odd 10 miler in months (about 130 miles per week). Just haven't been finding the time. Going to get out for a quick 40 miler tomorrow but really need to get organised and get some proper miles in.

It's a big bad world out there! I've never had anybody step out and want to beat me up just yet. I'd probably end up getting done for kicking them in the head.

Just cause we wear lycra we become poofs apparently. I've heard a story about a van getting booted **** out of by cyclists for slapping one on the head with a paper out the window of the van.

I went out this morning and the cold really affected my ability to breathe. It was quite alarming actually. On a route I normally average 19-21 MPH on, the best I could manage was 15 :(
