Just curious as the search hasn't brought up anything?
Has anyone watercooled anything in a Antec P183v3
Im planning a new SB-E build, and I might want one of the OCUK watercooling kits and was wondering if there would be room?
Did look at the Antec P280 as well, but it seems like it is the similar size..
Whatever case I go for, it has to be a mid tower as there are space issues and I do like the P183, understated elegance..

edit
I guess Im asking for a case that looks as much like the P183 as possible that I can fit one of the watercooling kits from ocuk in? It will be a SB-E build..

it would be a squeeze

you will need a 240 rad at least for a sbe chip.

i dont think you would be able to do it without some serious modding

Damn - I really like the Antec series cases :-(
What case would you recomend for a SB-E with possible watercooling?
I suppose I could always just go for a H100, but I wanted the option to try your v12 kit and push the chip to see what I could get out of it?
Is the P280 an option as it takes ATX-E boards so is a bit bigger..

Just had a quick look at some pics, I think it can fit a 240 up top so should be fine.

You could also mount the rad externally

There are some good NZXT cases aswell. IIRC, the lexa cases are built for mid range water cooling in mind.

You talking about the P280?

off to look at the lexa cases

edit - want to try and stick to midi towewr if possible - full tower won't fit under the desk..

How about an Antec skeleton?
Pretty small and can fit 2 360 rads in :)

too open, the kids will wreck that in 5 mins :(

trying to avoid the Corsair 650, want something with cleaner lines.
Maybe a Corsair Carbide 400R or 500R Midi Tower Case - Black , will go off and have a look at other models

edit 2

looks like the 500R might be a possibility
<most 240mm dual radiators (15mm spacing)>

If I was going to go down the wc route will a 240 be enough for a SB-E chip, or would I be better off getting a 360?

If Im spending this much money, I might as well get it right. The watercooling is just a possible at the moment, as with ambient air temp in the room at a nice steady 23C, Im not sure watercooling would be any cooler than a top of the range air cooler, so need to read up on that.
Im presuming that without using some method of refrigeration, the lowest temp you will get with watercooling is the ambient temperature inside the case?

how soon are you wanting to do it?

some inside info...

OcUK are looking at taking on a budget line of cases soon. the high end case in the range is VERY nice and very affordable.

we are just finalizing a few bits with our supplier.
expect a Tech Labs version of it with high end WC gear pre installed also

oh and did i mention you can put an SR2 and 2 PSUs in it?

well the case would be available separately too. this means you could choose your own watercooling spec to suit your requirements

you get a lot of case for your money with this new line.

you heard it here first :p

I will keep an eye out then..
The issue for me isn't cost, it is finding a midi tower case that I can watercool a SB-E in, that isn't a corsair 650D!!
I love the P183 for its looks, so am gutted that isn't an option so back to square one.
The anidees AI-6B 'might' be an option..
Im going to sit down tonight and see what cases can do what i want as I haven't got long to choose as the case and PSU are my xmas presents from my missus
So any midi tower options people know will fit a big enough rad in to cool a SB-E that I can buy from OCUK will be researched tonight

Rjk- they sound a lot like a TJ07... Except that isn't a budget case?!
Mind = ****ed!!

Op - the lexa are mid tower?! That's the reason I dislike them so much:p

I might have gotten the wrong one, I'll have a look for you. You'd be better off going for a 360 rad, the extra won't hurt!

Have a look at the NZXT:
Tempest
Lexa
Lexa S
Tempest EVO

The tempest is the one I was thinking of:

Dual Radiator Ready: The NZXT Tempest is pre-drilled for mounting a dual 120mm radiator at the top of the chassis, currently compatible and tested with Swiftech MCR220, Asetek Dual radiator solution, and Thermaltake TMG2.
