Calling all fathers ! This year will be my little boys first Christmas.

I know he's probably going to be more interested in the wrapping paper and boxes than anything else but I wanted to get him something cool all the same.

The difficulty is what do you buy a 9 month old ?

Any suggestions or ideas would be great :)

don't bother? he'd probably have more fun with a cardboard box at that age than anything you could purchase, as you say.

As above, a card board box

Or a teddy bear

A guy from work got his kid bed sheets, he's doing the sweetest thing ever for his kid though.

Waiting till his kid falls asleep downstairs, then he's gonna change the sheets on his bed so he wakes up in his new sheets, how sweet is that?

Bounce and Spin Zebra
Vtech Push and Ride Alphabet Train

Those are the two I can remember that we got ours, who will be 1 year on Xmas Eve.

Don't let the recommended ages put your off, they generally love anything and working things out.. chewing on different bits and if you get toys older than his age he'll enjoy them for longer as he works them out :)

We've been letting ours play on the bounce and spin zebra of a friends for months which is why we decided to get him one.

They are expensive though but we managed to get a really good condition second hand one which we've thoroughly cleaned (it wasnt dirty but I like to know :P) for £15 when they're usually £65.

GF is out at a works do getting her pasty smashed by some random in the toilets or something but when shes back I'll ask her everything else.. for the most part she saw something and then WE bought it so I'm not too clued in on what he's getting.. will be a suprise for me to ;D

Are you serious ? For a 9 month old ? Gift wrapped nappies maybe ? Treat the missus instead

I don't buy the kids any presents - period. Birthdays, Christmas whatever.

really don't think it matters.
Open him a savings account ?
*snipped the Argos vouchers as that's OTT*

^ This - The savings account is a brilliant idea and also shows your commitment to your partner. Double win :D

My grandson is 4 years old now but I remember him loving something with a lid that he could hide treasure in. (ie daddy's car keys, tv remote control, odd socks, mum's mobile etc) so maybe one of those baby walker jobbies with a storage compartment? :D
