Doesn't stand out enough, must try harder.

Wow, my big area looks tiny on the carto but it feels so huge when stood in it, i think i might make it wider by about 30 blocks or so.... more land flattening to do! >_<

I've been scrounging dirt for my island for about week now, and that's half the size of yours lol

Luckily i already had a double crate full of dirt, and seeing as i was flattening the land out i built up anotehr double crates worth of stuff i dug up :D

... plus i traded a double crate of cobble for dirt with shaarpy :p so 3 double crates of dirt just got me that far, will probably take another double crate or more to do the rest........something that wouldn't be an issue if i had my 1.7 stuff :D

EDIT: i hope Naffas giant N becomes a big N64 logo

Anyone here any good with mirosoft ISA? I'm trying to get minecraft to work through my ISA server, i can get as far as logging in to minecraft, downloading the latest version etc. but when i put the IP in for linktart it can't find the server :( Just keep getting this back:
Code:
Closed Connection 12/12/2011 12:47:14
Log type: Firewall service
Status:
Rule: Java
Source: Internal
Destination: External (188.165.213.219:25565)
Protocol: Java Outbound
User:
 Additional information
Number of bytes sent: 104 Number of bytes received: 0
Processing time: 63547 ms Original Client IP: 172.18.65.7
Client agent: java.exe:3:6.1

I'm allowing port 25565, i can only assume there's a problem somewhere else though in order for the ISA to be telling me "FWX_E_TCP_NO_SERVER_REPLY"

Holy image size batman! http://i43.tinypic.com/2qtwxvr.png

As many of you would know, I've been bugging people in chat to help out with a public build. Anyway, it's 60% finished now. It's an entrance to a public mine shaft, with a small farm around the outside.

As I don't have a house, I decided to put a small(ish) supply room that's private to myself. Tonight I plan to dig down into the actual mine and clear out different routes for digging. I was also thinking about putting a railway system into it, with the station being in a public storage room.

Ideas are welcome. :)

I must also add, I have a huge mob problem around the desert area. If anybody would be kind enough to place some more torches then I'd be super happy. The amount of sand I've had to collect is unbelievable, just to fill in creeper holes.

I will come and help you tonight Missile - sorry about last night, the cat was bugging me and jumping on the laptop so i rage quit so shout at her

I can help doing a rail system with you - i have loads of rail tracks in my 1.8 build which is no good for now, but we can mark out everything for now.

Just need to know what your 'vision' is for this so i can help without you having to be online ALL the time :D

Yay and thank god for that, looks like my lines are spot on.
Slow slow progress though, being so big.

Can anyone circle a big clay deposit? Haven't seen any on my adventures.

Sea bed is your best bet, their isn't really large deposits as such but there is plenty about, swamp biomes are the best for it I think.

Just in case anyones interested :)

This is my new build and the square within the walls marked out in torches is the same size as Joachimville from the old map :D

Imagine how cool it would look with it copied over and nicely landscaped in ;);)

I'm no MS server expert but presumably that's to do with the IP or port being blocked in the firewall?

This is frustrating me, i can't for the life of me work out what's doing the blocking. Though i get the feeling not all traffic is going where i want it to.... we have 2 internet connections, one is heavily filtered and provided by the local government, the other is a talktalk business line specifically for us to use unfiltered (while unfiltered it still sits behind a linux proxy + the ISA).

As far as i can tell traffic is getting through the ISA correctly, I get the feeling that somewhere down the line traffic is trying to go through the unfiltered connection though, as i get a sort of filtered page if i open minecraft without a proxy even though i have no settings on my PC relating to the proxy settings of that connection. It's almost as if the proxy settings i set in "minecraft proxy 1.4_01" only apply to the login section of minecraft itself, and not to any further multiplayer connections :/

I don't know enough about java and the way it works to know if my assumption is correct :(

EDIT: I think every separate selection within minecraft opens a new java thread or something as i've determined the following:
No settings = Can't login and details page comes up with an error
Command line function of adding proxy settings = front page of the loader loads the page with the web but can't login
minecraftproxy1.4_01 = Can login and front page loads

So i think every option that's selected required the proxy settings to be reparsed along with the selection, so in order to join a multiplayer server i now need some way of telling it to use the proxy settings in order to do so.

Can you test by disabling one of the connections temporarily?

I'm not sure how you would easily make Minecraft use one connection or another - it's always been a bit woolly for me with that and Windows.

Sadly i can't :(

Surprised no one's coded something for this yet, i can run it fine if i use openvpn to a server somewhere but it's quite slow unless using a paid service. I might try leaving my PC on tomorrow and setting something up with that to see if it's any quicker...though my internet connection at home is pants :(

I've always hated java based programs!

Ditto. I've never got on with Java myself. Probably wasn't helped by having to study it in Uni 'way back when' and hating it there too.

I'm sure that there is a way around your problem - I just wouldn't know where to start with Windows :/
