I think what happened with Janet, was that at first a lot of people found her very cute (remember she is still a child). Then as the weeks progressed, people got bored of her...especially when we got to the later rounds and things get more serious.

I wonder if Amelia will do anything in the music industry.
It wasn't just the fact people got bored of Janet - but her attitude began to change. She went from being the cute Irish lass to a wannabe diva, ignoring her mentor and slamming doors

I don't think there's really a market for Amelia. I don't know who she would appeal to??

Anyway. It's all history now. Well done Little Mix. If I was a betting man I'd stick a few quid on Frankie emerging on the scene in 2012.

She definitely changed and got depressingly precious about "her music". That must have stopped more floating voters shifting over to her when their favourite acts were kicked out of the Big Karaoke House. And of course she's definitely a "Marmite" singer, as this thread has proved, so her core vote was always going to be fairly solid.

However I said a while back that she was probably a bit too young and inexperienced (in life and handling praise) for this, and when she did so well early on -- as the stats and judges'/crew's early opinions confirm -- it's quite possible she flipped from shy, retiring rising star to over-confident yoof. She certainly wouldn't be the first teenager to struggle with fame or success.

But as Coldplay always prove when performing live, there's more to talent than hitting every note. I still think she might be the only "proper" artist to surface from this year's show, though it will very much depend on what advice she's given and listens to. It will also depend what she's allowed to do, given the X-Factor contracts.... so overall I'm not very confident for her.

Every other act this year did nothing for me at all. Lots of good singers that'd fit well into any choir or chorus line, but not a lot of 'X-Factor' I'd want to buy or see again... especially Marcus. Lovely bloke, competent singer, but I agree with the drunk comedian on Xtra Factor... all the soul of a Halifax advert.

Little Mix probably got the win purely because their demographic is perfect for the biggest part of the vote (teenage girls) and there's a gap in the market at the moment. I've no doubt they'll do very well for a while. But I suspect the blonde one will eventually try to escape as a solo act... possibly as Little Minx, leaving Pick & Mix behind.

What a dreadful name. Tulisa should have chosen something a bit more classy... like N-Dubz. ;-)

Anyway, a suitably entertaining (usually for all the wrong reasons) X-season over & done with. The only "good" thing about the ongoing recession and youth unemployment stats is that it might generate a bit more talent (or perhaps desperation) for shows like this in the future.

Little Mix close to being in the bottom 2 in week 3.

would have been interesting to see who'd of gone between them and Kitty. They weren't popular at that stage and hadn't really shown much.

Little mix sounds like kitten food, and Marcus is loads more talented.

I thought Marcus was the more talented but he was all over the place this weekend, not one of his performances sounded convincing it was almost like he froze on the big stage. Conversley I thought little mix really stepped it up and delivered a consistent professional level of performance when it really mattered Sunday night in particular they were leagues ahead of Marcus on every song.

If they get the songs I think there is a career in this for Little Mix at least for a while a bit like JLS and One Direction but it really does depend on them getting some good songs for their debut single and album.

Marcus I think will disapear, bucking the trend of recent runners up. For me he was just to bland and middle of the road much like Matt Cardle last year to stand out in this market and those who think he will make it in the West End I would say this weekends live performances in front of a big audience would certainly put off many a producer, someone will probably take a gamble on him just for the increased marketing but I don't think he's good enough to make a career out of it.

Thank God its over.

I always like the X Factor, but this year has been awful :(

BB x

Got to agree to a point, I've watched every series and it is slightly worrying that my highlight in recent week has been Dermots entrance dance on a saturday night allthough even that was ruined this weekend by him getting far to in to it and loosing the awkward amusing element!

I think the mass judging change has really hampered them which made the show very flat early on when they were all still finding their feet this then went totally the other way when they over reacted to the bad press which resulted in Gary making an idiot out of himself with his tough guy antics, Kelly becoming far to weird and Tulisa having some sort of dek banging melt down.

Hope it returns to strength next year, they really need to dredge up a good group of talent and hopefully get Simon back on board as the show really isn't the same without him.

I keep reading little MIX and MINX, is this intended or am i a pervert?

One is from my home town apparently ... lol good for her.

haha Shrek Mix kills them. I wreckon they will get rid of her after, whoever picks them up will strongly suggest it for popularity.

Seriously dude you have a worrying obsession with her, just been reading through the last few pages of this thread and it appears you come in just to **** her off and say nothing else.

Looks to me like a case of 'he doth protest to much' either that or you need to get a life, ok so she might not be a size 8 super slim fitty with the voice of an angel but she is sure as hell making the most of what talent she has and the oppertunity she has been given so maybe try winding you neck in a little.

bravo!

Ok, here's a question

We all know that if you win the contest, you are prohibited from releasing material for 12 months. This has been the problem for many contestants whereby the public forget the xfactor winner during this time. Effectively, the winner loses the advantage which they spent 3 months gaining (ie. gained popularity and a fanbase during the show).

Why doesnt Cowell, release the first album within 6 months of the winner winning the show?

Surely, this would make it more easy for the winner to cash in on his xfactor success? My belief is that the 12 month wait is what is killing the careers of the winners.
